Guys, things are terrible right now.

I was supposed to go on vacation this weekend, a long weekend in Pittsburgh. Tuesday night my husband had a pulminary embolism, and he has been in the hospital since..I don't know when he will be getting out.

This is terrifying...He had one when he was 16..He's lucky to still be alive. He's been on coumadin since then. He's athletic, and in good shape..He has to be to prevent more blood clots. We thought everything was great, then he had this bad one Tuesday. There is some damage to his lung, we don't know what the extent is yet. The dr is going to surgically install a screen to catch clots before they reach his heart. This is major surgery, so I am scared..They'll be doing this in the late fall.

I am having a hard time. I'm not sleeping or eating very well..I know I have to keep it together. Thank God he has an excellent job with excellent benefits. I just want him home with me.

So say some prayers for us, ok?

Fins, I will definately keep you in my prayers. Tell your husband I will request prayer for him at my church. Let us know how it is going. You are a good friend and we all are family here. GOD BLESS KYSIDE38

Thank you Anthony. You know, 8 months ago this place saved my behind, and now it's saving me again, in a different kind of way. You guys are true friends..Anyone who could ever question how people on a website can build solid relationships would understand if they were in my shoes right now.

You guys have gotten me through last night, and now you're getting me through this awful weekend. maybe I'm just sappy and emotional because I'm stressed out and tired and jacked up on coffee, but there is no way I can thank you all enough. Just know that it goes both ways..Any of you needs anyhing at all, I got your back.

Believe me fins, I was just about to say you to have some coffee and see...you were already having it. I think it's telepathy. When you say, we're friends, there shouldn't be any 'thank you' and 'sorry'.. right (I know it comes from inside) everyone here is so affectionate and understanding. I feel good to see when people here try to stay connected with others. You saw that Nokia ad.. I will say here "DebtCC Connects"

LMAO!!!

Liz, I'm so sorry I missed your call..I just got home and heard your message! Just hearing your voice was sexy!! I'll call you back tomorrow.

Guys, your prayers are working..He feels a lot better right now, they actually gave him seasoning with his dinner! LOL..He got moved out of Intensive care, still a good chance he'll be home tomorrow or Monday. He's crabbier than I've ever seen him, that must mean he's ready to come home.

Thanks again, I love you all dearly.

Hospitals turn people into big babies..They're no fun.
I always felt like a prisoner in the hospital. And you get no rest. They're like "Get some sleep!" then 5 seconds later someone comes in to take your temperature.

He'll feel better once he's home. :) I hope he comes home today! :)

You know, someday we're gonna be able to laugh about this..

when he was in ICU he had an 80-yr-old roommate who was MEAN! Just nasty! Whenever my little boy and I went up to visit, this man would pull his curtain shut and make unspeakable noises..It was gross. After we left, my 7-yr-old and I would walk down the hall laughing hysterically. Yesterday, before my husband got moved out of ICU, I was up there, and the old man picked up a water cup, peed in it, and threw it at the hall. How's that for class?

Haven't heard anything yet..Hope he's coming home today!! I have to go grocery shopping..The nurses gave me a list of foods he's not supposed to have.

Michelle-Hope he comes home today!Glad to hear everything worked out as well as it did. That reminds me of the time I was in the hospital-thought I was having a heart attack-and they put me with a really old lady. Well, all she did was yell"Help me,help me,help me" over and over. I bet she yelled that 100 times in a minute. Finally I told the nurse, you better be helping her or moving me!...Karen :D

Our apartment is third floor and out of the flood zone, but I may be holed up for a few days reading books by candlelight and eating nonperishables. My husband says he's been watching the weather reports and that the odds are in our favor, but best to be prepared. So I went out this morning during a downpour to buy water, tp, and nonperishables.

You know..I am a Florida native, only lived up north 12 years..I have been through many a hurricane! I always loved them, especially when they came at the beginning of the school year. Our house was inland far enough to not have too much damage, usually just some minor flooding. twice we went to disneyworld when the hurricame came, so that was fun!

Elena bad for us, we had to evacuate to the school for 2 days. But the worst was the "no name" storm in '93. Have you heard about that? We looked outside and the sky was green..We had very little warning, all we could do was close the hurricane shutters and hope for the best.

It'll be alright Ari, I promise..Remember, most people get hurt or killed because they're doing something dumb, like messing with power lines or surfing. I'm thinking about you.

He's HOME!!!!

The big dummy..He drove himself to the hospital on Tuesday, they told him when he was admitted that if he had waited for an ambulance he might have died. So..he's not on any narcotics, he's just taking coumadin and warsarin(sp?) and he told the nurses what's the point of calling my wife so she can drive 15 minutes up here so we can walk out to the parking lot and drive home in 2 seperate cars? I guess they saw his point, and they let him drive home. I was in the kitchen and he came walking in like nothing ever happened, didn't even call first. jerk.

Anyway, I'm so happy, but I have a huge responsibility here..Ari, I might be looking to you for advice! I'm still scared, pulminary embolism is the 3rd leading killer in all sexes and age groups in the US. This was his second..he has a higher chance of having a third. Thank God he's healthy and excercises daily, but there still needs to be some significant diet changes here.

You guys, I can never thank you enough for your support. You have no idea how much it means to me. I love you.

This is excellent news Michelle! You're hubby will be doing just fine and I know of plenty of dietary, herbal, and supplemental remedies that will greatly improve his cardiovascular health!

Thank YOU for the advice you just gave on getting through the hurricane. I experienced I mild one when I was a little girl living in Massachusetts, I believed it was named "Gloria". I also experienced "Hugo" I think. When they come through New England, there is not much to tell. It rains heavily and a few trees keel over. Needless to say I'm not in New England anymore and this is an entirely different ballgame. After seeing all the messes "Ivan" and "Katrina" made, I'm definitley feeling overwhelmed.

The fish oils contain essential fatty acids for the purpose of forming cellular membranes, helping the body absorb vitamins, and producing hormones. The absorbing vitamins part is why they are necessary for cardivascular health, but Karen is right, he should ask his doctor if they are ok to take with his meds.

Thanks Karen and Ari, we will definitely be coming up with a list of things to ask his doctor. He's seeing a new doc, a hemotologist, tomorrow. The docs are being really agressive with this, that makes me feel a lot better. So much stuff I didn't know..I had no idea he couldn't have green tea..Or aspirin. I have a lot to learn.

Polly!!! What the heck!? I talked to you earlier today, you have news and you didn't tell me then?!
I spending some quality time with my husband tonight...I'll call you tomorrow..I'm dying to hear this, I think I have some ideas!
