does anyone have any feedback on the Hess Kennedy company??

Stay away.

They will take your money, and they won't contact your creditors. If you break a contract with them for their lack of service (such as not contacting creditors AT ALL, or for not returning phone calls or emails) - they will demand an obscene ammount for "outstanding lawyers' fees" for services that they never had any intention of performing.

They are con artists. Stay away. Beware.

I haven????????t dealt with HK personally, but I have been reading negative posts about them. I have no clue if they are undergoing investigation in Fl or what. However, HK always took the time to reply to the consumers???????? complaints posted in this forum. That is a good sign, at least they are not running away. Hope they will get in touch with you soon.

Find more information about HK here.

Any client who desires a copy of their file can request it at no charge. It will contain copies of initial letters to creditors as well as offers in compromise, offers in settlement and the like.

Patience is the key to achieving desired results. It did not take 3-4 months to incur debts and it will not take this long to achieve favorable results.

More important, I think that credit counseling Agencies need to take more time evaluating conusmer financial conditions. Only insolvent people should hire an attorney to settle accounts in full.

If you are not insolvent you should not be utiliing a law firm.

Chino the BBB of central florida will say no such thing. An attorney from Hess Kennedy Company sent a letter directly to the BBB president Judy Pepper and Judy Pepper like you can go right to the Florida Bar Website and search their records.

If any member of the BBB staff in Orlando is commenting on Hess Kennedy Company they should contact us directly as any other potential client. We will gladly supply the Bios and Bar numbers of any attorney on staff or on retainer.

Chino is a liar. And what we can do if he or she continues to lie, is identify the IP address from where his posts are coming from.

My husband and I have been "working" with Hess Kennedy since April 06. We were told that they were settling with our creditors to pay a lower balance. We have received numerous phone calls from our creditors and have explained that we were working with a law firm to settle our debts. Our creditors have told us that they haven't received any settlement letters from Hess Kennedy. When my husband emailed Hess Kennedy, he was told that the creditors had not responded to the letters. I don't know who to believe. I feel like we are paying a lot of money each month and nothing is being done. I was also upset because when we had originally applied, they accidentally sent our application to one of the companies they work with and we didn't realize it. That company had mistakenly auto-deducted a payment from our acct. at the same time Hess Kennedy did. This caused our acct. to overdraw. We contacted Hess Kennedy and they contacted the other company and had them refund the money. However, we were unaware that they were seperate companies. I thought that they were part of the same company. So, I was calling the other company for assistance. It wasn't until we tried to have the payment postponed and it wasn't, that we found out that they weren't the company we should have been contacting. That was 2 months later! Also, I checked the BBB website and it says that Hess Kennedy & Co. in Coral Springs, where the payments are sent are financial planning consultants. The legal office is in Orlando. Also, according to BBB, Hess Kennedy & Co. are NOT members! I will go to the Florida Bar website and check on them. I will also read the comments on the page that Stanley mentioned. I will also contact Hess Kennedy and request a copy of my file. Thanks for the information.

Stay away from them. Call your creditors and tell them your situation and that you need to settle with what they will take. I've done this after being done bad with the Hess Kennedy people. I've been tired of being put on hold, never getting a call returned, or never getting what I was told I would get. It takes them for ever to do what they say they will. Every time I've called they can't get my file right and I'm put through to different people in the com. who can't find their way out of a paper bag. Settle with your creditors and they will have to take an offer. I've done this with mine and saved lots of money that Hess will not get. They will take an offer you if you just tell them you have so much money and that is all you can offer at the time. Good luck!

After being with Hess Kennedy since August, I sent a letter to terminate the representation agreement and requested a refund of my money due to dissatisfaction with their services.

My experience with them has turned out to be like some others who have posted on here...unreturned phone calls, being kept on hold for ages, unanswered emails, and lack of results. I have to say that I could not recommend their services to anyone given my experience with them.

I noticed months ago that they had a decent record with the BBB, but upon checking them out on the BBB website recently, I noticed that they had 17 complaints, so I'm obviously not the only dissatisfied client.

To the Hess employee,
I spoke with your employee last time you came here to harass posters. You are correct on one point. You are a law firm.Problem I have is by cross referencing your directors to florida bar association,I only find one person licensed to practice in florida.
Too the community There is plenty of posts that can be
searched to find out about them on our board.

Hess Kennedy Company (HKC) scammed $2500.00 from me until I caught them in one lie after another. What started me believing they were frauds was the posts here 1st & then I started asking them for specific things. I asked them for a copy of what HKC were supposedly faxing to my creditors. I wanted to read what they were telling my creditors. For your information I had always contacted the person who sold me into HKC even after this rep so called lawyer told me to contact a different person in the company because they transferred my account to the main office. This rep said they could not send/fax this letter to me and would look into seeing if HKC would do it just to get me off the phone. The very next day I called again looking to find out where this fax was. This so-called lawyer went on sick leave. Now come on I was talking to this person for the last three day by email and telephone. This rep never told me anything about going on leave. These people at HKC are very crafty because they are professional fraudsters.

The only pereson I know of that works there is Laura Hess. She is part owner of the place I think. I know I asked one day and the lady on the phone told me her name was Laura Hess. They are all liars. Stay away from them. They have an awful record with the BBB and you can go there and see it.

I filed with HK on behalf of my deceased almost ex husband (we in in the middle of a divorce) who died in a horrific automobile accident penniless and in debt. I filed with this company a year ago hoping to reduce the debt and walk away from the estate clean. Mind you, my children and I get nothing as there is nothing left. In the interim I am in the process of selling my ex's home and found that there are liens on the property. HK has accrued sufficient escrow to negotiate some of the debt and to the best of my knowledge has not. Now the estate account is out of funds and HK stole approximately $8k and there is not even sufficient funds to pay the debt incurred in the sale of the property and pay off the mortgager.

I have made several phone calls to HK in the last two months explaining my situation and it has fallen on deaf ears. Lip service, no returned phone calls, etc.

I have requested a refund of all escrow plus a portion of their fee since they did nothing to earn it.

I believe that this is considered fraud and illegal in my state.

What kind of creaters would steal from and defraud a widow and her children? How low is that?

I am not stopping at this post or my request for a refund. I intend to seek legal counsel and contact the District Attorney's office. These thieves cannot continue to defraud people who are obviously already in trouble financially. They need to be stopped.

I truly feel like I have been robbed without a gun!

I am so sorry you have to deal with this. I filed complaints with the Florida Better Business Bureau and the Florida Attorney General's Office. I suggest you do the same. Also file a complaint with your state's Attorney General and or Dept. of Finance, and they can follow up with HK on your complaint. This route seems to have the most results as far as getting all or some of your money back.

HK is being sued for fraud practices in florida. They are scam artists and will not do what they say they will do. Do not work with them.
