and haven't heard from Sonic yet. How long until the fun begins?

Should I just go ahead with the C & D prior to a phone call?

A C&D won't do you any good unless it goes to a third party collector.
I would suggest giving them a call and try to make some arrangements on payback, or get into a consolidation program.
If you register here, you can discuss some options with a counselor if that's what you want to do.
Sonic is one of the most stubborn to work with though.

Even though Sonic attempts to contact you and say that you've defaulted, and that your only option is doing a moneygram, they will attempt to get their funds back each pay period.

I have had many payday loans with Sonic. All have been somewhat easy. My first experience, they attemmpted to get their money back at 6am. That was two hours prior my pay period going through. They eliminated my NSF fee, and allowed my financial instuation to do a wire transfer, only after hounding the supervisors at Sonic, and asking for a three-way phone call.

My last experience, well, was my fault. Over the course of 3 pay periods they attempted to their money back. The funds were successfully paid off, but each time they added a NSF fee to it.

Remember, Sonic does 2 attempts each pay period.

Cheers
Mike
