Hello. I have 2 payday loans that are delinquent and the tell me that they don't deal with debt conslidators and that I must pay with in their timetable or they will garnish my wages. My credit debt consolidator says that they can handle them and that the payday lenders are making empty threats. What all can the do and what all should i do?

Hi. You came to the right place.

First of all..Are they internet lenders? If so, they don't have a snowball's chance of getting a judgement against you. Store fronts can be a different animal, tho...

Second...why don't you register? This is a great place, and you can get a lot of advice from people who have been there.

I have called the payday lenders and the both said that they don't deal with consolidators. Both of them are storefront loans and the ask for 500 here or ask me to pay off the full amount and take a lesser amount. I responded by telling them that they get payed when they get payed....

Storefront lenders can get a judgement to garnish your wage..But think about this..It costs them approximately $200 to file. They have no guarentee that you still have the same job or that you haven't filed for bankruptcy...It's not worth it for a $300 to $500 loan. I think if you follow Lorri's advice and make payments they won't garnish you. Definitely try to work something out with them.
