My husband and I have been caught up in the payday loans trap. We have 16 payday loans and no we are default with all of them. We have been contacted by Consumer credit counseling and they want to set us up with Hess & Kennnedy. At this point we are not sure what to do. Some of these companies have told us that they will not work with a debt settlement plan and are making threats to garnish my husbands wages.
Here are the companies we are dealing with any advice would be appreciated. We live in Florida.

Oneclick cash, 500fastcash, cashthis.net, Cashtransfercenter, Cashnet500, GFSIL, 800-Money-4U
Cashbackpayday.com, E-Payday-Loan.com CashNMinutes.com
Mr.Cash.com, FSM Group, JD Marketing, M1Y Direct, Payday Select, CashInAWink.com

i'm in texas and i would like to know what are reliable payday loans

A little off topic here, but saw The Shining mentioned above - didn't know if anyone has been watching Ghost Hunters on the SciFi channel lately, but they did a show called "the best of the Stanley Hotel" - apparently Stephen King and his wife stayed in this hotel in Colorado and it was the inspiration for The Shining. Very cool show.

The fact of the matter is this:

PDL's lie to us! They tell us we will be arrested, they tell us that we're committing felonies, and all sorts of other lies . . . .

Why is it so wrong that we are playing their game?

I've talked to the same person at one PDL four times. Each time they give me a different name and say they never talked to me before. But it's the same voice, same extension number. Yes, lieing is wrong, but we are only trying to do what is fair. It is wrong to have someone lie and say you don't work somewhere, but it forces the PDL's to contact you, not your workplace, and talk to you, not your co workers. We aren't trying to get out of paying loans, only trying to follow the laws of our states.

oh, i see it very clearly now. all pdls lie, all pdls are illegal, all pdls are bad. Guess that means that you can lie as well.

i remember someone saying one time that two wrongs don't make a right. it really just ends up making everyone look bad that comes here if that is the attitude they take.

Nobody said ALL pdls lie and are bad. I seem to recall that I have been saying that CashNetUsa is licensed in the states they loan money in, AND they follow each state's individula pdl laws. Now there isn't anything wrong with them as long as they are licensed and following the law like this internet pdl does.

That's right. I've dealt with very fair and legal PDL's . . . But a few of them have very dirty business practices. I really don't think that it's any use arguing . . . . I doubt the guest will ever look at another point of view . . . .

And I'm not advocating lieing. I'm just saying that some of the PDL's will call your work and tell anyone that answers the phone that you are about to be arrested! How is that fair? You can't be arrested for non payment of a debt. And guest, this happened to me the day my payment didn't go through. I'd called them the week before to tell them that I'd had a problem (unrelated to PDL's) with my bank account and had already put a MO in the mail for them. In fact, I found out the next day that my MO got there the afternoon the payment was due, so how did I do anything wrong? I wasn't trying to avoid payment, I had a legitimate reason, and they went and slandered me to all that would listen! If they would've called me at the contact number I'd given them, I'd have told them the payment would be there anyday. But instead of calling me, the debtor, they called anyone around me they could. So yes, I lied after that and told them I no longer worked there. Not to avoid payment, but to avoid harrassment. Call me a liar all you want, but I did exactly what the police department said to do. My next step would be filing a police report for harrassment. I think I was being nice by lieing!

Payday loan industry is a big business and with countless companies in the chain. Only a handful are discussed here. Those who are doing wrong business and people falling into the wrong hands come into focus. People comment on the basis of their experience. A right company should exist and a wrong company should not. It's simple to understand this fact.

What's the need to steer a purposeful conversation into personal attacks?
