I filed bankruptcy last year (CH7) and am trying to re-establish my credit. I got approved for a $300 credit line with Orchard Bank. Did anyone else have them? Any complaints?

Go through the customized terms set with the credit line. I think there has to be an account setup fee also known as the processing fee. An annual fee is also listed with the highest possible combination of fess. I have heard that you can qualify for the lower fees depending upon your credit information.

I had defaulted on other cards prior to Orchard bank and was also approved for $300 credit line. Be aware of ALL the fees!!!! Others beside Orchard give you a credit line but after all the FEES are applied you end up with only $70 available credit. HA HA. To me it was not worth it. In this case, If you dont have the cash to pay for something, you really dont need it. By the way, I ended up back in further debt, and had to default on that account also. BE AWARE.

I have an Orchard Bank Visa at this moment. I didn't have a problem with this little adorable company until I got charged with an annual fee of $59. Since I didn't have a full $59 on my credit card, I got charged with an additional $30 overlimit fee (which I have been overlimit in the past, but I was never charged a fee). Be real careful with Orchard Bank. They try to charge you for everything and then some. I will be glad when I pay them off.

You are grateful for them for giving you a credit card after you file bankruptcy but sometimes everything that glitters isn't gold.

I had a card with them as well, my credit limit was 300 but like the above post mentioned my available credit was very low due to all the fees. My annual fee was $59...my balance racked up when I fell behind on payments. I actually listed them in my bankruptcy last month and the amount I listed was a little over 800 because all the fees that were racked up.
If you do decide to get it, be very careful and read all the fine print. I know it's very tempting but it may not be worth it.

I had a card with them as well. Key word here is "had"!
They are "fee happy"...if ya sneeze they hear it and add 30 bucks to your account, then you're over the limit so they add another 30 bucks...
Their promise to increase your limit is also a lie. They base it on your credit, run a profile, and see that your credit is bad so they won't give you an increase.
So what does that mean? You had bad credit in the first place, they offered you a card, and then don't increase your limit cuz of your bad credit???, just keep on adding fees cuz you have this dinky limit of $300.
They sure are something!

I had one as well. Stay away,as far away from them as possible! Fees,Fees,Fees!

They start you off with a $300.00 "line of credit",then load it up with fees, then you usually end up with is about $70.00 available credit. Beware!

And they are notorious for posting payments late.

There are better ways to improve your credit.

This card used to be fair prior to HSBC, but now thet charge for everything such as 30.49% annual finance charge and $3.50 CLOSED ACCT SERVICE FEEE until balance is paid. I closed the account due to high loanshark rates and then stick it you with closed fee charge. Such a big nonsense. My advice: Stay away my these people and check all hidden fees.

Orchard Bank is horrible and they know they are. They let charges go through that you don't approve of. They charge you extraordinary fees such as an annual fee. No wonder they offer you a credit card to reestablish credit. With a high interest rate as theirs, you will be back in debt before you know it.
