Poo on them!
Tell them that is the only way they'll get their money. Have your CC send it to them monthly, and if they refuse, let them explain that in court!

Funny thing was, and this is thanks to all the helpful info I've found here, I told him my intention was not not to pay but I was having difficulty paying, he said he could take my account info over the phone..HAHHAHAHAHAHAHA was my response, I told him I didn't have one and wanted to have an address to mail a money order to, he said that they only accept credit cards or electronic debit, and then he actually said "WHY don't you have a bank account? Because of something you did?" I was thinking more like..because of schmucks like you that work for unscrupilous people who will just debit an account until you bleed it dry. Round and Round we went and guess what he finally gave me Western Union info. Anyone want it?

The Western Union info is okay to use, only problem is, they can claim that they didn't receive it. Where if you send the payment through the mail, you can send it certified mail with return receipt then you have proof they received it.

Tammy, So you are suggesting that if for some reason my credit counselor tells me to pay them myself(even though I've turned it to them) I should press for a physical address anyhow? Isn't there some way for western union to validate a pick up of $$?
State License
What state are you in? Call your State Financial
Regulatory office to see if Ten Dollar PDL is licensed
there. I live in Florida and have a PDL with them and
they are not licensed here!

Have you made United Legal validate that they actually have the account? You have to use extreme caution when dealing with them. Depending on what state you live in, if they are not licensed to lend in your state, there are steps you can take. Have you paid back the principal on this loan? If you have, I wouldn't pay them another dime. Chances of Ten Dollar payday being licensed is slim to none. They are affliated with Rio Resources and Rio is not licensed to lend and has violated several states usury laws and licensure laws.

I am in california. They are not licensed here and neither is United Legal. I am going to send a DV today as I have not paid the principal down, but with the fees I will never get to the principal. I am also going to send a cease and desist letter because I know they will or have started bugging my references, because Roy actually suggested that I ask one of them to put the money in their account and they will debit my references account-WHAT A JOKE are they kidding, who do they think they are, I don't think they would legally be able to even debit my references account even if I was dumb enough to say ok, then what would they do, drain my friends account??? This pisses me off to no end, but I am real glad for the information and support that I've found here...Thanks everyone. Pauli'sGirl

I dealt with this CA regarding a payday loan I had several months ago. This lady called me at work and actually shouted at me. I had been working things out with the pdl company but I was irritated after United Legal called me at work. Don't be intimidated by them. Per the fdcpa laws, they need to validate the debt before you proceed any further with them. You can find a letter sample on the forum and send it certified mail with return receipt. This way you will have proof that they received it. Also, keep everything documented when talking to them or any other creditor that you have listed with your counseling company. Also, I would contact your credit counselor to inform him/her of the situation. I'm sure they will be more than happy to help you.
