Try for a reasonable payment arrangement with HSBC. Others here who have dealt with HSBC will explain you the risks involved with the company. Since your home is involved, try to keep your account current otherwise there are possibilities of a foreclosure. HSBC is very stiff while accepting proposals from people but you will also have to mould yourself thinking about your property attached with the money.

I would live in a tent before ever taking a mortgage with HSBC.

chellydebt35, try to make a payment arrangement w/ them. how much is your 2nd mo.
I am paying $440 on my 2nd and I was behind 3 months. They let me pay $440 when I called then $220 every 2 wks.
The 1st collector that I dealt w/ was very rude but when I called the 3rd time, I was lucky to talk to a very nice lady who let me do the partial payments. You should give them a valid reason why you were late on paying. I told them that I was on maternity leave and bedrest for 3 mo & was only getting diability check.
Try asking for their supervisor, and give them a reasonable excuse.

I did not pick this crappy company. I got my loan sold not once but twice to them. I owe 116,000.00 to them. and my payment goes up every month. It started out at a good nice rate $600.00 then it is know a huge 1600.00 the last time I looked....I have tryed too make arrangements. But nothing boy that is a lot of money to loss if you as me... I am behind about 6000.00 too... I can only afford right know about 600 or 800.00 right know that is it...I am in the hole soo bad... no they will not work with us at all. I just don't know what to do.I am so lost.

Sounds like my mortgage company except mine is called Countrywide. They are the worst. Was in foreclosure in Feb on first mortgage - due to husband being injured at work - so arranged a modification. Payment went fro 1,914 to 2,800 and thats before paying 2nd mortgage which unforuntately was defaulted on and now I have to pay in total 3,900 a month. Have not paid either mortgage since June - about lose house with three children under 3 years not a good idea. They are not willing to help at all so having to do chapter 13. I cannot stand countrywide and have heard some not nice stories about them
