High finance charges on my debt

Give them a call and tell ask them to reduce it. Sometimes they will change it if you suggest that you'll no longer use their services.
See if there's another card you can roll over your balance to with a lower rate too.

I've already tried that. The person I spoke to said he couldn't help me even after I suggested that I would transfer my balance. I tried other credit card companies, but the interest rate was just as high, if not higher, than the one I already have. I don't know where to go from here.

Welcome to the forums :D If you have aready called and they won't work with you,call again! One time I called,they wouldn't work with me,so I waited a few hours,you always get someone else,and did this over a 3 day period. And guess what,I got someone to work with me,plus sounding pityfull didn't hurt either! Good Luck...Karen

Debt counselors are trained to do these types of negotiations. They can arrange lower interest rates with the creditors for you. As you haven't got success on your negotiations done with the company, try a free quote from a counselor. Maybe, that will work out for you.
