Seems that we have been getting POUNDED lately with the nothing better to do spammers.

How about a way to defeat them?

My thought - they are all unregistered (l)users. How about forcing unregistered usernames to enter a code to allow their post to display? The good chance is that most spammers are using a program to post their crap. If we were to initialize a code program that is a graphic, it would slow them up. Similar to the code you have to enter when you create a Yahoo email account or other entries like that.

And for registered users, no code. We would like people to register and become active members of the forum, so when they do, reward them with not having to type the letters they see here:

Just my two cents.

Hi

We welcome all your suggestions and it's good to see that you are thinking nice. Our programmers are working hard to stop the spammers from posting their urls. If you remember, earlier, these spammers used to register and then post their urls. It's stopped. Now, they are doing it as 'guests' only.

We can apply code anytime, but the statistics show that the number of visitors is much more than these handful of spammers. Applying code just for their entering in the forums at each visit can be bothering at times, especially when you need to figure out the curved alphabets. We don't want to get them disturbed just because of these few spammers. But, we do not want you all to be disturbed also. We are working on a strict programming and hopefully it will be done soon.

Meanwhile, I will thank each and everyone here for being a part of this group and taking their roles quite efficiently. It's teamwork and could never have been done without each one of you. Thanks

Regards
Vikas

I'm starting to pick up on something in the My Story forum. Posters with spam-like usernames are posting very brief and vague postings like "I'm in debt" and "I'm in a deep hole" and "I'm a college student living on my own". The posts aren't specific at all and no questions for advice are asked. I'm starting to suspect these to be spammers disguising as potential members and regular guests. I could be wrong though, but I want to bring this to everyone else's attention and get your take on it.
