I have over 60,000 in unsecured debt mostly credit cards.

Do you think I am better with debt settlement or a cccs agency. I have looked into both. The cccs repayment is alot more but seems like the "right" way to do things.
I have been up to date until lately. Now I am getting behind and want to do something before it gets totally out of control.

You can still take control of your credit before it goes out of shape. You have a large amount of debt, perhaps debt settlement will be the best deal for you. First off, the total debt will be reduced to half and the monthly payments will be set as per your present financial situation. You will feel better after talking with a consultant. He will frame your payments so that the debts get paid off in easier terms.

Guest, you are free to choose whether a consolidation plan will be helpful for you or a settlement plan. Both of them have their own approaches along with the positives and negatives. A consolidation is obviously better than a settlement but it depends upon individual conditions.

If you are thinking of consolidating your debts and not go for a settlement, try to keep the program for the shortest time period. The more you extend the plan, the less you will save at the end of the program. Some money can actually be saved through proper budgeting analysis and keeping the tenure of the program shorter.
