mimi-It should say on your court papers who is trying to collect. You could send both of them one,if you want. Her are some samples of letters for you to look at http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/books/sampleletter.pdf Be sure and send these certified, return receipt. Good luck :D Karen
Karen is right. Check your latest credit copy for the collection
Karen is right. Check your latest credit copy for the collection agency reporting there. You should find the details with your local county also. A debt validation letter should consist the full details that prove their authorization to collect the debt. The name of the credit company that they are collecting for and full details of the debt account needs to be put in writing. Please know more about this mentioned in the fdcpa.

mimi-even though the 30 days has passed,I would still send a dv
mimi-even though the 30 days has passed,I would still send a dv letter. And I would send it asap-since you have this court thing going on. I will tell you that,LVNV hasn't validated any of my requests. But you will have a copy of where you did attempt to have it validated. If you have enough time, wait about 30 days, and send a follow up letter,if they haven't validated. The more info you have, the better for you when you go to court.Hope this helps...Karen
