I sent a letter to the Attorney General's office and filed a complaint with the office of financial affairs in Louisiana regarding $10 payday loan and the fact that the company turned my debt over to creditor who wants me to pay an additional $300 on top of the finance charge and the $25 NSF charge. Turns out that in Louisiana, you were only suppose to be charged 16.75% or $45 on $300.

I hope that everything works out. I will keep you updated.

Good luck. Louisiana has always been one of the better states for out-of-state pdl's. For years, the authorities there interpreted their laws to only apply to lenders within Louisiana. (Much as Minnesota and Pennsylvania still do.) But I haven't had any dealings there in a long time. I'm be curious to know if their interpretation has changed. Keep us posted.
