student loans with the Dept. of Education

My question is in regards to a student loan that I have with the Dept. of Education. The first entry which shows the correct amount of my loans is reported to all three bureaus. Then there is a second entry that is only reported to equifax which tacks on $6625. Does this second entry hurt my credit?
Can I dispute this and who is the best one to contact first, the creditor or the bureau.
This account has all the right information and open/reported date, but it would seem to me that this should not be reported since the first account has the correct information. After reading other posts, it could be suggested that this entry could hurt my score.

If the second entry has a purpose to remain in your credit file,
If the second entry has a purpose to remain in your credit file, dispute it with the credit bureau and know the reason of their reporting. Contacting the creditor will also be helpful.
