I recently got a copy of my credit reoprt and found three items that I wasn't aware of. I sent dispute letters to all three companies and have not heard anything back. It has now been more than 6 weeks and I was under the impression that Credit Companies had 30 days to deal with a dispute or erase the charge. Is that true, and what do I do now? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you dispute the item directly with the credit bureau? Send one more letter to the credit company as a follow up. If the item is not supposed to remain in your credit file, it should be immediately removed. Refer the FCRA laws to the credit company and I hope things will be taken care of. Don't forget to dispute the item with the credit bureau also. Send all your correspondences in writing through certified mail. You will have a written track of everything.
