I am just assuming that you should forward that extra money towards your auto loan company? Maybe, you don't have to take a new loan in this process after some arrangements can be worked out directly with the auto loan company. They might also allow you some time in your repayments.

Anyone can get an auto loan, no matter what your credit score is..It's just a matter of what you're willing to pay. There are tons of car lots that offer loans to people with horrible credit..At a horrible interest rate.
Definitely communicate with the bank your loan is currently through..If your payments have been on time, they may be willing to work with you.

Fin,
That is the truth girl. I got an auto loan, the first in my own name, three months after my bankruptcy was discharged four years ago. I was surprised that I got it and I had a lower interest rate than my sister who did not go through a bankruptcy. I only knew that because it was the same auto loan place. I would never go through them again though because they were hounds if you were a day late on your payment, and that was during the grace period. I refinanced it through a local lender last year at a lower interest rate. It will be paid off next fall, right after debt settlement is finished.
