I am in serious trouble here, I have a great job, as does my husband, well maybe not great pay, but pretty good anyhow. We had debt and then about a year and a half ago, our cars broke down. I used payday loans to get through, now I still owe about 13,000 in credit card debt and am about 120 behind because all my pay seems to go towards those payday loans and I can't get them paid off either. Where do I even start?
OOPS Forgot to mention.
I forgot to mention that my hubby has no idea where the money is going, that we even have payday loans or how bad the debt is. He will freak out and doesn't do well with extra stress.

What are the names of the payday loan companies you're currently dealing with? Are any of them in collection? Chances are you might have to end up telling your husband. What state do you live in?

First let me say that you are not alone...Many people on this forum are facing credit card and payday loan problems, I myself was one of them. Now that you have registered with the site a counselor will be contacting you to discuss your situation and your options. May I ask if these payday loans are online lenders or storefront lenders? Have you tried talking to them to see if they will accept any payment arrangements?

Welcome to the Community :D Mikey is right asking what state you live in,and if these are internet loans or store front. Alot of internet loans are not licensed to do business, and alot of time, you have over paid them in fees, etc. No one does well with stress, but I think he would do alot better at finding out from you, reather than by accident. Keep us posted!...Karen
more info.
To answer the questions, I live in WA. state and have 3 store front and 6 online payday loans. As for my DH, we have recently had a lot of marital problems and I think that this may just be the straw that breaks us. That is part of how we got in this mess though, trying to keep him getting what he wanted without having to say no. Now it is just a big loop that I can't seem to be able to get out of.

I too was in the pdl cycle and hid it from my hubby for a long time. When I finally did tell him, he was very understanding and supportive of me. We tried to find a solution together and I found this forum a few months later. Unfortunately, I had to stay in the trap that much longer but I learned my lesson. I guess it takes the hard way for me. JJ knows a lot about the lending laws in Washington state. I would address the store front lenders first to see if you can set up a reasonable payment plan with them. Since I have been open and honest with my hubby, our relationship has only gotten stronger. It sounds like you have a delicate situation at home so I will pray for you. I hope things get better for you :)
