Karen,
Thanks for the link, I had already looked at that. I know how confusing PA laws are regarding this. The only hope I have is to find out whether any of these companies are licensed in there home states. If they are then PA doesnt offer much protection. If they arent then I can do something about them. As it stands right now I want to at least fax and mail my removal of authorization to debit my bank account. I have my bank blocking these debits but it still takes several days for them to reverse the charge and I don't really want to close the account.
Thanks
Scott

I am not sure if this will help anyone but it seems a lot of these pdl companies are based in Nevada. I am in a position living in PA that if the pdl is licensed to operate legally in a state then there isnt much you can do. If they are not licensed in the home state then legally you can fight to just pay the principal amount. I cam across this info for nevada and hopefully it helps anyone who is dealing with one of these pdl companies there.

Scott,
If I am not mistaken, since you live in PA, PDLs are illegal. Even if these PDLs are registered in another state, the borrower is in PA so therefore the PDL is illegal. I would check into this.

Pa's laws are a little lax with this. They state that they are illegal to be licensed in PA but that if it is licensed in another state legally they have no control. Kind of a sucky situation.

They are illegal in PA, but as I understand it, if it is an internet pdl taken out by the PA resident and the internet pdl is licensed in another state (the one in the contract) then PA won't do much about it. But if the lender isn't licensed in the state they claime to be in the contract then PA will help the consumer.
