I live in FL, and I have 5 pdl's..I am trying to find a letter to stop payments from my checking acct. I need one for the bank and the PDL..I also found out that they are charging way above the state allowance ..
this site is real good

Thanks for the compliment, and welcome to the site!

are all of your pdls internet? If so, closing your bank account may be the best course of action right now. It's very very difficult to stop pdls from debiting your account without doing that. Even stop payments are risky..Not only are they pricey, but the sneaky PDLS have a way of getting past them.

Figure out what you have paid these companies, and add interest allowed by Fl state law. If you have gone over the amount of the principal, then you may be able to get your loan marked paid in full.

Finsfan is right, close the account. I did a stop debit payments with my bank, but at their recommendation I closed it and reopened a new one so they could not access it. They will go in under one of their dba's to be sneaky about debiting or they will go in and debit for a different amount to by the block, they can even draw up a check and do it that way. Very sneaky people.

If you are overdrawn in your current checking account they probably won't do it. I don't think your credit rating will hurt you getting a checking account, I have a poor rating and I was able to get one. I think if you are in the chex system because you owe another bank for a closed account which is in the negative, or you have a bunch of bounced checks you have never cleared up then you can't go to another bank. I would try to see if your bank will give another bank account, if not try going to a new bank.

I didn't know that about the credit union, I don't work in the same county as I live in...because all I see around here are the teachers credit unions..I really like the bank I am with now..so maybe they can change my account number, the only thing i have to do is make sure I can change my direct deposit from work in a timely manner.
1 of the pdl UNITEDCASH LOANS, ON A $300.00 LOAN I have already paid them $675.00 they are charging me $30 per $100.00, but I found out (on this website) that they should only charge $15.00 per $100.00 what type of letter should I send to these PDL's?

Here is the link to polly's blog with the pdl template letter, just insert your state's pdl laws, and make sure you revoke your authorization allowing them to debit your account.

If you aren't overdrawn why wouldn't they let you just close that account and let you open a new one, that way your direct deposit won't be stuck in the middle of two accounts. Just a thought.
