this company paragonway inc just showed up on my credit report saying i owe them $00000235 and dont say what they are collecting for never called me or sent me any letters saying it was due 10/01/2006 and past due 10/01/2006. what in the worl is this?

If you don't know what the debt is, send them a debt validation letter. Here is a template you can use for the letter http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/letters/sample6.html

If you get no response, then you can dispute the account with the credit bureaus. If they can't validate the account, they will in most cases remove the item in question from your credit reports.
