I haven't paid my credit card for years. They gave it to someone else, called MRS. They keep calling me and I told then I can't pay them off even though they bought it down to $2000 something. They expect me to borrow from family or friends. I've told them that family and friends have there own bills. I can make some payment right now but they will not except it.

Do you have any intention of sticking with the payment arrangements? If so, then type up a letter, making it very clear on how many payments you'll be making. If they said $2000, tell them you can pay $200 a week, for 10 weeks? Usually, collection companies want the entire amount of their offer in full. You can also state in the letter that if they're refusing the offer, that you only contacted by US mail.

Remember, only pay what you can.

And one last thing, after checking with the BBB, it's been reported that this company has an unsatisfactory record. Many complaints have been made. So in every contact you have with them, make sure everything is documented.
