i dealt with them with my Target card. They are nice people. I sent them payments; however, i guess i wasn't paying fast enough. after 4 months of payment the account was closed through them and past onto another collection agency.

They like to sue. Responded with all the correct papers including "don't call me letter", they still keep calling! They are Debpt Collectors, nothing more.

These people are unethical and rude. Tell you one thing then another. Feel they are above the law. Keep threatening court even when trying to work with them!

I recieved a call from them today telling me that they are calling from an attorney's office and are going to sue. Are they just a collection agency?

Zakheim is indeed an attorney's office, and they will follow up with legal actions. I would suggest either setting up payment plans or settle with them, as some of the clients will allow up to a 50% settlement, which you can't beat!

Just received a summons that Zakheim is suing me for my past due Target account - about $6K with all the late fees, etc., despite my efforts to notify them that I was completely insolvent, and now recently unemployed! Guess they are sue happy as mentioned above. They'll probably end up spending more on attorney's fees then they'll ever be able to get out of me.

I was served papers about 3 weeks ago to appear in court. I am so frustrated because I have tried to work something out with them, and I keep getting different amounts of what is due. Does anyone have any experience of actually going to court and if they show up or not? Is it correct that if I appear and they don't, then the case is dismissed? I am not trying to get out of anything, but feel they are not even trying to let me get this solved.

Just wanted to know what happened. Did you go to court or did they offer to settle before? How long did it take for them to send you the summons to court(after you received your first letter from them). Are your wages now being garnished? Any info would help. I've heard different things about these guys; are they really just a junk collector or are they the type that doesn't fool around and takes you straight to court?

They took me to court last year. I did everything by the book. I still got screwed. It seems they take about 20-30 people on the same day with one lawyer (who looks fat and tired.) When they call your name they let you step aside and "make a payment plan" with the lawyer in this other little room. I ended up making a affordable plan to pay off my debt just like a car loan...several months at a interest rate (~11%) to pay it off. It you blow everything off they can hve the judge make a judgement against you. Tjis allows the company to come after things you own..up to a $1000 for your car and morelike a lien on wages if they wanted to. If you dont own anything they might not even bother you: too expensive for them.

I have a judgment against me. I started paying them monthly right out of my checking.(Autopay) They stopped withdrawling money out last Nov. I thought they gave up or something.Then they tell me I have a new judgment against me for non-payment. DUH... They stopped taking my money.What the hell! I called them up and asked them WHAT THE HELL!! This girl Sasha Haro gets on the phone and tells me I have to pay all or nothing. I told her I couldn't do that. She started getting a real bad attitude with me so I ask for her Super. He gets on the phone and tells me I can continue with my monthly payments. Now I have to call them every 6 months so they will keep taking my payments HOW STUPID IS THAT!

I have been subpoenaed to appear in court by Zakheim & Assoc for several credit cards that was no longer able to pay. I wrote a letter to the court and copied Zakheim & Asso explaining why I could not afford to pay my debt. I didn't have to appear after writing the letter. The judge made a judgement against me for the debt including a reasonable interest rate (I think around 5 or 6%). My attorney friend said they can't come after me for anything now because I took the time to respond to both the court and them in writing. I hope to be able to pay these debts in time, but for now it is impossible for me.

Zakheim & Asso. were very rude to me and tried to strong arm me into paying until after the court rulings. I've heard nothing about this ever since. It's been at least a year.

They're aren't allowed to call at work, so if they DO call you at work you can threaten them with a law suit as well. FYI.

I've been dealing with this agency for a year now, they are ligit & accept pay arrangements with me to repay Target. Most of the reps. have been very professional, they just want you to pay your debt.

For the large part, perhaps. But they have been sued for FDCPA violations 13 times in the last 2 1/2 years.

Yes, they do like to sue. One day, I make an arrangement to settle which would have resolved itself in less than a month-then the next day this RUDE person calls me back and says "oh yea...we can't honor that settlement you're being garnished" Granted, I probably let it go on longer than I should have, but seriously for $3500? The case could have been closed within 2 weeks w/out garnishment, but I guess it was TOO hard to stop precedings. They are FULL of BS.

i have been to court and donot have the money to pay bank of America.the biggest thing that makes me mad is i all way,s payed more than min. payment,s and payed on time then out of the blue they took my card witch was fine because they could take the bill,s that went with it.i am on disability and have a lot of medical bill,s and more than likely only have a few years to live, i have a bad heart and need a new one that i will not get.the motor in my truck just blow,ed up to day some come get the dame thing, and after that i will just go a head and blow my brain,s out because i am tired of all this B.S. I also was contacted last summer by Zakheim and told they were starting a law suit against me for my Target Visa that I had to stop paying, no choice at that moment in time. I sent them a CRRM and explained my situation-going thru foreclosure on our home and 3 months behind on power-water, begging from friends to feed my kids and the only way I could pay them(and I want to) is to begin prostituting myself on some street corner. Well, that was last August and I have never heard back from them-not one word. I check our county court website daily for anyone trying to slide in a lawsuit. I called them in January and asked about my case and was told they have no record of them ever contacting me or sending me any letter, my name was nowhere in their files. Go figure that one. I guess I will wait for the next company to contact me over it. I will gladly pay if I can at that time.

Did you know that, in a lawsuit, they MUST provide an ORIGINAL signed agreement between you and the credit card company, AND they MUST provide WRITTEN PROOF that they or their client is the "owner in due course" of the debt" (which has probably been sold) AND they must provide copies of all statements between you and the credit card company, or you can have the case DISMISSED?

I've been sending them money for years and I've never received anything resembling a statement detailing my payments and resultant balance.

They took over collection of a credit card I wasn't able to pay because I lost my job. I spoke to a judge on the phone to work out an arrangement and he told me that they would collect at an interest rate of 9%

I've been paying about 200$ every month and I was curious after a couple years how far the balance had gone down. I called their office and was told that my balance was barely below what it started at and my interest rate was 11%

So I was lied to and my money has not been going towards paying off the debt.

I recently lost my job again - and my apartment, and my car, and my phone, and I have nothing left. I'm not going to be sending them any more money. It hasn't done any good anyway.

I went to court for them and they will settle with you before you have to see the judge....They have a payment plan already set up if you want to accept their offer. I have to pay them now!

I think Sasha Haro is a sweetheart. It's a great shame for her that she still can't beat me. Yep, Zakheim is a bottom feeder. They tried to get $$ of of me for 2 years on a target card. They do not validate, we went back and forth for over a year with that, then will not send statements when paying, rude, disrespectful(worst person in the office is a paralegal named Tammy-nasty nasty nasty woman), threaten and voilate every rule they can think of. I played and toyed with them for almost 2 years and when they filed a lawsuit, I played their game. My husband and I planned filing bankruptcy anyways. I waited till they filed the lawsuit and they served me, the day before we were due in court my lawyer filed our bankruptcy. I went ahead and called Zakheims office and spoke to Tammy to inform her so they didnt waste their time at court, trying to be nice, my god the mouth on that woman would make a sailor blush, she was so pissed I filed on them. I told her "I warned you-if you cant get your acts straight-what I would do, all you had to do was produce correct documentation and you will get the money, you refused so I played your game." We are going up against zakheim and ass' next wednesday. I want proof that this alleged debt is mine. All they have attached to summons was a credit card statement. In this 'cut n paste' society, i want proof that my original signature in ink signed up to what they claim we owe. We are supposed to be going into a 'mediation' pretrial farce. I don't want to settle anything. I want them to prove everything first!

Are the most unethical collectors I have ever delt with..They don't return phone calls, their people are rude..My daughters acct# was connected to some other person,so make sure you have the right acct# !!!! I called and set up a settlement offer with them, and then 2 months later (it will be finished in 2 weeks) they send us a new settlement offer. I called them to ask what was going on and if we could take the new offer and credit the money we've already paid to them and they said no and that they sent that letter out to all their accounts that had a Home Depot account. Was just sued by them. I tried to resolve the issue, sent them a certified letter asking to resolve the matter, never heard anything from them. When I went to court a lawyer was there from another law firm, representing them. I set up a repayment plan and was told I'd hear form Zakheim and Associates, fist payment is due Monday, I haven't heard anything from them but sent the payment any way. These people are very rude on the phone and apparently not going to answer any letters they receive.

these people are rude, sent a summons in sep 09, told them could not pay the amount requested tried settling with them to make monthly payments, no reply 5 months later another settlement letter who should i believe, have not heard form the credit card co either

I just looked up on the clerk of court's records for my county and Zakheim has a judgement against me for my unpaid Target account...I didn't even get a notice to go to court or anything!!

Can't tell who's making entries on behalf of Zakheim, and who's for real in this blog. There's a name for that, but I can't think of it.
