Has anyone ever filed a complaint against a CA for not honoring a C&D that you issued? If so, where did you file the complaint and what happened?

Report your state attorney general about this. In California, you can record the debt collection phone calls after notifying them about the recording. This will build up legal points against them for violation of the fdcpa.

CA (collection agency) C&D (cease and desist letter) You should document the date and time of the contact. And they do have to follow your request to cease and desist because they are a collection agency. I would file a complaint and send a copy of the letter you sent to the ca as proof. I will look for the site to do this, others have filed a complaint for this type of violation and won. I will look for the link, somebody may post it before I find it.

A CA is a collection agency and C&D is a cease and desist letter. Do you know that a debt collector can be legally stopped from contacting you after sending the letter? If they still contact you after receiving your letter, you have a chance to file a class action lawsuit against them for violation of the FDCPA.

Thanks for the info.... I logged 3 calls yesterday, which would be the first time they've initiated telephone contact since I sent the C&D letter. No calls today, so far.
