I recently found out throu checking my credit report about collection posted by asset acceptance llc for amount of $17 dollars on the account that I never opened or was even aware of existence. So I wanted to ask what would be the best way to find out about what happened and how to get rid of it? thank you, Max

Get the debt validated from Asset Acceptance. They are allowed to report to the bureaus only if they have genuine information. With that said, they should be able to give you the info on this debt. If they can't validate it, force them to remove their remark from your credit report. This will be something illegal if they are trying to hurt your credit without genuine info. Know more about this legal part in the FTC website. Then you will sound stronger in front of them.
