Anyway, they said "We want to thank you for being a good customer and want to make you an offer to pay off your loan...please call..."

So, the reason I am posting this is because I have read nothing but bad news about them. Are they being nice just so I will call back and then they start getting nasty?

Ideas, thoughts?

They're a real pain in the neck....When you call them, they will have some outlandish amount that you owe...

If you still owe your principal, offer them that only...(Which is more than likely $200) They'll take it.

Mention the fact that they are not licensed in the US...They LOVE that....See if they say if they're licensed in all 52 united states...lol That's what they told me.

They are being nice so you can call them back...
Did you send them a cease/desist letter? They are not licensed anywhere from what I have gathered and they are an on line payday lender with no store fronts. Not to pry but how much was your loan and how much have you paid thus far? I'm sure like the rest of us here that have dealt with them you have overpaid them. If it wasn't for this site I would still be oblivious to how they have gauged me over the last several months and not being educated concerning these types of lenders.

I have actually been going back in forth with them but under Route 66 Funding. I sent them the cease/desist letter and that all communications are to be in writing. I filed complaints against them with the State Attorney General, The Federal Trade Commision and the BBB, and filed an affidavit with my bank.

These are are some of the names they go under as well:
Route 66 Funding
Cash Today Limited
Cash Today Limited dba Route 66 Funding
Cash Today Limited dba Interim Cash Limited
Cash Today Limited dba Cash 2 Day 4 U

Also, did you look up Florida State Laws concerning payday lenders? If not, here is the link:

Hi Chagrin: I have a physical address for these creeps. I took out a $200 loan which then escalated to over $1000.00. I complained to the BBB in Nevada which then Cash today reduced it to $600.00, all while hounding me at work. They have finally stopped. Here is the address:

Cash Today
1005 Terminal Way
Suite 110
Reno, NV 89502

Good luck

These are the emails addresses I used when I sent my letter to Route 66 Funding:
payment(at)route66funding.com
application(at)route66funding.com
customerservice(at)route66funding.com
darrenw(at)cash2day4u.com
aarong(at)heathmill.com
returns(at)cash2day4u.com

and this UK address for Route 66 Funding
LONDON ADDRESS:
Northway House
1379 High Road
London, N20 9LP

Cash Today Limited is located in the US, did you call this number 1-877-564-7738? Or did they give you a different number to call back?

I took out a $200 loan w/$79 finance fee and before I found this place I had already paid out $948. They will try to tell you that you still owe the loan amount regardless of what you have paid thus far. They state the finance fee does not go towards the prinicpal which is bull. As you can see my loan was well overpaid, don't know if I will get a refund but if they quit deducting and mark my account paid in full I will feel good about that.

Chagrin - they have two addresses in the US, one in NV and one in NY (Interim Cash Ltd, another name they use) for appearance's sake, but they are physically in the UK. They give these toll-free US call-back numbers, but the incoming calls are actually patched through to the UK. If you have caller ID and ever notice the number on the display when they call you, it starts with 44, and there is no name displayed. This is the country code for the US to the UK.

I would send your letter to both the US and UK address, that way you've covered your bases and know that someone from their organization will receive it.

Rocky - who is the law firm you are referencing in the above post? As for Cash Today Ltd., they aren't still debiting your acct., are they? You've more than paid back the loan, so just stop paying. They will threaten all kinds of bogus stuff, send emails from their "Investigations Dept." and mention fraud. They are not licensed anywhere, are a "paperless" lender, which is illegal, as a written disclosure of the apr and loan note disclosure must be provided, which they never do. A recorded agreement on the telephone is not going to stand up to enforce a binding legal contract. They harassed me up until recently. I kept replying to their emails from the "Investigations Dept." by stating that I had more than repaid the loan, had been charged an illegal interest rate, was not provided with a loan note disclosure, etc., and if they contacted me again, I would take the matter further. I made sure I copied the head of their organization on the email this time and I haven't heard another word from them, and it's been over a month.
