Is there a list of what creditors, collectors that are more prone to sue than others?

I think any company that has the legal reasons to sue a person will file a case in the court. But I also know that most companies try to do this with incomplete information in hand. They have many disputed information with which they can't get a stand in the court if a case is filed. That's why they push people with fake legal papers and false assumptions. Be fully informed about your rights. Do not get intimidated. Do you know anyone from whom you are facing immediate threats?

LVNV has started sending me letters and calling. They say I owe $1,300. on an old Discover card debt. Do you think they'll try to sue? I thought the debt was settled.

Did you get the debt validated by LVNV Funding? They are required to follow the federal laws and give accurate info of the debt before doing collections. It should be proven that they are doing a genuine collection with complete account info from your creditors.

If you haven't got anything in your mail from them, send a debt validation letter and have proof of your actions.

I sent the DV letter but they haven't validated. Tomorrow will be 30 days. They passed it on to Gulf State. I faxed the DV to them and they haven't validated yet. Thanks!
