:( well my father recieved a letter from chase saying his account had been turned over to palisades collection LLC because it was a 7yrs thing so we recieved a bill we made a payment and we never recieved anything from them. The next amount due was $268.31 and I am wondering are they going to charge late fees to the account? It would be their fault for not sending us anything or informing us .
As a company they should be more aware of things i ve been calling and no one picks up what should i do ?

Janet, what do you mean a 7 yrs. thing? Did Chase tell you it would be 7 yrs. before a charged off/bad debt would come off of your father's credit, or it's been on there 7 yrs. already? The reason I'm asking is because there is a statute of limitations for debts. Also, by paying towards a debt that is almost ready to come off of your credit report, it re-ages the account and you start the 7 yrs. all over again.

Did Palisades Collection send you anything in writing to show that they are authorized by Chase to collect on the debt, total amount owed, etc.?

I recieved something in the mail from pallisades collection saying I have a 900 dollar bill with at&t. And when I looked at my credit report it was on their. How would I go about disputing this bill I am only 27 years old and do not need this on my credit report. This will definately put a damper on trying to purchase a home.

I suggest you pay the AT&T bill if it is yours. They will put it on your credit report and it could be up there for up to 10 years depending on how much they want to hurt you.

If I am reading this correctly..

Chase will inform you that statements/bills are a curtsey. If you weren't recieving them then you should have called.

Contact Chase and ask them where the account is. Send a debt verification letter to the collection agency if it makes you feel better.

I would not pay a cent based on a phone conversation with them. As a general rule, I would avoid agreeing to any payments based on a phone call. If they want you to recogize the dept as valid, make them prove it to you. There are way too many scammers out there to believe anything based on a phone call. Step one: would be to mail them a debt validation letter. You can google: debt validation letter template to find one. Send it USPS with return receipt requested so you know they got it. 2nd step: Anyone who calls about a debt, ask them to mail you proof & not to call again. Palisades is calling me about a fraudulant debt. They are straight up criminals.. I would not send them a dime unless they could prove the debt valid. They have nearly 200 complaints on the Better Business Bureau web site. Good Luck!!

You have to treat each situation differently. I do believe that there are companies who allow their collectors to run rampart on their debtors. It sucks but it happens. But just because you don't like a company doesn't mean you shouldn't pay your bill if it is indeed yours.

Following your statement, just that I can't escape paying my debts, I will ensure that my money goes to the right hands. A collector trying to collect without genuine papers though I know that there is a debt I owe from the past, should I pay to someone without any documentation shown? I guess, you will say me, "NO" ..and the story continues...
