Hi Tasha, I saw your photo in the community album. You are sweet :)
I can feel your confidence while you were composing your story here. You will surely make up and come out of yours and BF's debts. Keep a check on your spending while you are paying a few of the accounts. Remember, any amount saved can be largely used towards the accrued bills. When you have taken care of everything, it will be the perfect bliss to imagine at this point. I wish you good luck and positive energy. You have also become a member of this community and started helping people. That is also a good way to begin with after redeeming the points into cash, not to forget about all the updates on the payday loan industry and learning about the individual rights.

Tasha, Do not feel bad, we all make stupid mistakes, even those of us who are not so young, I'm 37 and wish I was in a different place right now, instead of deep in debt. My bf doesn't even know about my pdl nightmare that I am suffering through, although I'm sure after he told me how dumb i was he would be willing to help me fix it. What I am trying to say is that hopefully you, and the rest of us are learning from our mistakes and in the future we will all be a little more prudent in our decisions. I've been reading your posts, you are very quick to help here and it shows how much you care. Keep it up girl! :)

I hear both of you...my husband has no idea of the PDL nightmare I got myself into either! It's really frightening when you sit down and do the math...how did I get into this much of a problem!
Thankfully, with what I've learned on this forum and some hard work (and even a little luck), I'm getting this stuff knocked out! We'll all get there eventually!

Hi Pauli, it's great that you are correcting yourself from the past. I say, there is no time for mistakes to happen. It can happen anytime and on anyone. The sooner you realize it, the better. I hope that you may be feeling a bit better now comparing with all those problems you had in the beginning when you realized all this. I am sure your days will improve, surely. Stay connected and well informed.

Tasha--Welcome!
Your picture is adorable! :)
I'm glad you found us here at the forum, and you'll come out of your mess stronger than ever. And being only 21--You WILL have plenty of time to fix things. Set yourself a goal and stick with it.
The one thing that helped me a ton was to make an Excel spreadsheet, and I put everything I owed on it. I would enter in every payment I made. SEEING my progress with my eyes that way really put things into perspective and made it so much easier to keep track of things.
I'm really tired, so if I'm rambling, sorry! :)
Tasha, Thank you for sharing some of your story with us :-)
Tasha,
Thank you for sharing some of your story with us :-) Your picture is adorable. It seems that you are on the right track with your debt situation. It is always good to have goals, especially at such a young age. Now is the time to start and to learn from those of us who are older and just now taking care of business. Jessi has a good idea with a spread sheet. It is something I do now for our monthly budget. Keep us updated on your progress and enjoy the rest of your weekend :-)

Hi Tasha.
I currently have a PDL out with CashNetUSA. I checked my contract, and there is no wage assignment.
By the way, congratulations for "taking care of business" now. You're only 21 - you've got your whole life ahead of you. You're smart to straighten out your credit now. The best of luck to you!

I was suprised to see that they do but it's good to see one actually following laws. They also have a great listing of state laws. If anyone ever has questions, their website list many state laws in good detail.

Yes, I know, it is surprising. And after their initial refusal to agree to anything but all the loan, the loan divided in half or in three payments, if you show you really are attempting to pay them off, they seem willing enough to work with you.
pdl 'the way out'
I myself had at one time believe or not 10 pdl for a total of about $6000.00 and this was my way out.
The first 2 most important thing you must do to take control of your paycheck and money is 1)Stop your Direct Deposit with your employer. And 2)Close that bank account.
Get your paycheck go to a check cashing place, cash it buy money orders to pay your important bills.
Once this is done, you are in control of your money and not others.
Ok, now the pdl companies will start emailing you and calling you and by realizing your bank account is being close they know they lost control, not that much they can do at this time, they will have to deal with you on your terms. First thing you express to them is that your bank account was closed by your bank and that you want to make arrangement to pay off the loan and you ask them for the quickcollect information or the address where you can mail out the payments, you do this with all pdl you owe money to.
Here's the way out, you dont send them the promised amount, you only send about $50 each, by doing this you will be in default, once you are in default they must stop accruing interest on Pay day loans by law.
and you just continue sending them small payments until you pay them off all no ineterest charge. Remember the original loan agreement was based on you payday bank direct deposit, once your bank account is closed the loan agreement was terminated all you need to pay now is the principal.
I myself had at one time believe or not 10 pdl for a total of about $6000.00 and this was my way out.
I cant get a new pdl now, but Im happy. Oh and by the way the pdl collectors can only intimidate you by phone, it will take them a very long time to be able to garnish your pay check with a lawyers help, so they will deal with you at your terms. All you have to do is time it very good. Determination and strong will. Best regards.
