Consolidation Suggestion needed
Date: Sun, 10/22/2006 - 12:17
I have a lot of debt to pay off. The debt I have is due to legitimate reasons. Between student loans and credit cards, my total loan amount is over 40,000. I am not qualified for the federal student loan consolidation programs because my student loans are not federal. They are private student loans.
I have a secure job now with a decent salary. I am paying a lot of money out of my paychek to pay every creditor. My credit score is not too bad. Anyway, I feel that even if I make the payments on time each month, I am not going to be able to pay them off in a really long time (about next 20 years.) I want to pay them off faster... like in next 4 - 5 years.
So, my question is - is there any company/bank/etc. who will consolidate the full amount and pay off all my debts. In that way, I can pay the lump sum to a single creditor. This will allow me to pay of the debt really fast.
Any suggestions welcomed.
Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the forums. Somebody will be in contact with you to discuss your situation and options since you have registered as a member. There are several consolidation companies out there you must investigate each one to ensure they are legit and can do what they promise. Check with the BBB to find out their standings. I'm sure you will find one that can take care of your needs. Good Luck.

Hi Steelers1,
Thank you for your reply. I was wondering if you know of any specific company. I did find out about CareOne. Their BBB report was good too. However, when I spoke with one of their agents, he said that I have to be delinquent in my payments in order to get their help. Since, I have a descent credit score and I am not delinquent in my payments, they can't help me. I found that odd. I didn't pursue them further. Why should I hurt my credit score that I have worked hard to build up? Anyway, I don't know anyone who can educate me and point me in the right direction...
Thanks for your reply.
