question on debt consolidation
Date: Tue, 10/24/2006 - 02:35
Hiya-
new at this so bear with me...
How do you know that any consolidation company you work with to reduce your debt is a "real" company-not one that will screw you over? We're struggling A LOT financially right now-death in family and job changes. I need to find a way to help us out but I am so afraid of getting too mixed up in any consolidation groups because I'm afraid I'll lose out somehow. Most posts I've read indicated positive results but how do you really know--anyone could be typing what they want you to read-not the way it really works... not trying to be cynical, just precautious-maybe even pretentious! haha
Anyway, if anyone can offer me something, at this point, I'll take it.
Thanks
Crystal

Very true. But if 90 among 100 posts are positive, then it is less risky. However, you should dig more. Contact Consumer Protection Office of your state, check them with BBB, try to get in touch with people who have dealt them and so on.
This message board offers an excellent interactive platform that helps you decide the right move. However, you have to go with your instincts ultimately.
One more thing, before signing a contract, read the terms and conditions carefully and thoroughly. Ask questions till you do not get satisfactory answer from your consolidator/creditor w/e.
Boy Jibberhead, you sound just like I did when I was looking for
Boy Jibberhead, you sound just like I did when I was looking for help. I too questioned the honesty of the site, but I researched & found that this is an honest site with very helpful people, many of whom are/were in the same boat we are. I signed with a company a month ago. Check any company you think of going with on the bbb site. Also, see how long they have been in business. We're here to help you
debt consolidation
jibberhead, This site is for real. All you have to do is register and a debt counselor will contact you and go over your options. Good Luck KYSIDE38
