I need some help with a letter,

This is about a bill that is being taken care of through my son's disability insurance. We have been told to not discuss this with NCO and continue to disreguard all calls made from them. This should be cleared up by the end of the month.
I need help construction a complaint letter to NCO. As I work in the collections industry I know I would lose my job if I ever left a message that disclosed information that could be potentialy heard by a third party. I have Vonage, all my voice mails are stored from their very first one to their newest with a partial mini maranda explaining that the law requitred them to inform me that this is a debt collection company.
I need some help construction a letter of complaint and consequence. Any help would be appreciated.

Since you're not allowed to devulge any information to NCO, I'm not going to ask you to do it here.
Have you pulled your credit report recently? Is NCO showing up?
First thing I would do is see what your insurance company is doing. Speak with managers who know your case.
Second, send a debt validation letter to NCO. Make sure they're even allowed to be collecting. They should be giving you some time, knowing that your insurance company will soon be taking care of it.
Are there signed patient consent forms for everything they're trying to collect in. NCO will make you go and get these yourself. Usually patient accounts/medical billing has these, and can send them out to you at no-charge. But you must be specific, and ask for the signed patient consent form. Not the summary of events.
Maybe the patient accounts department can put a stop to this. They were the ones who turned it over in the first place I'm assuming. Is your sons treatment on-going?
You should also probably send NCO a cease & desist letter. They won't contact you insurance company or your attorney (even at your request). They'll just keep sending you letters for payment demand.
Insurance cases are touchy. Don't let anybody screw you over.

Mike

I've spoken with the insurance place several times. They assure me this will be resolved by the end of this month. So far I have no reason to disbelieve them. I know that there was a dispute with the hospital because they claim I didn't file my papers on time, when I did.
I'm not really concearned with a C&D letter. My voice mail is digital so I know who left what message before I even have to listen or read it. I don't open most of their voice mails. I was just curious if they had changed their message to anything more illegal than what it was.

I'm assuming medical service were provided. If you had coverage during that time, then you have nothing to worry about. A hospital can't just say "Oh, you had insurance? Well you forgot to tell us...too late. By the way, the bill is $3000 for that visit." Whoever got smart with you, and said the papers weren't turned in time was probably just having a bad day. I use to audit the hospitals, and I was hired by the insurnace companies. I had my own desk in the billing department of the hospitals, so I overheard a lot of reps and how they handled certain things.
Good luck on getting this situated, and please let us know of the outcome.

Mike
