1-866-538-7581. this is the number who called us and said they were American Financial (website americanfinancialcard.net)and wanted to give us a $2000 card (not a credit card). I asked the girls name and said I would call them back. I called back and got a different girl, and she said the exact same thing the other girl had said as if they read from the same script, well needless to say they gave me the run around and would not put me in touch with the original person. So as i am talking with her I am on their website reading the "terms and conditons" OMG, if that doesn't say, "I am going to bend you over and take your money", I don't know what does. She could not answer my questions clearly and stammered several times. I told them I would talk it over with my wife and hung up. So check this out, here we have them calling us first, then i called them back, got through easy enough with the same number. Now i am suspicious and they call me back and now its a man. could not get either of the first 2 operators back to talk with. They kept saying they needed to verify our checking account, needing both the acct.# and routing #. I said let me check out your website and ill do this on-line. Guess what, their web site is currently being updated, how convienient. lol!
The wife and I had recently changed financial institutions and had a checking account still "active" but no funds were in it, we had already moved the money to the new account. So I gave them the #'s to the empty account. They ask me to hold on while they verify it. Then i'm told that they are haveing problems with thier computers and would call back tomorrow and continue the verification process. As I am chuckling under my breath, my suspiscions were right. Truth be known, they verified the account right then and there, lied about thier computers messing up so as to call back tomorrow. As soon as we end our phone call, I try to contact through the same number,(the one I was able to get through so easily) and now only got a recording. Hmmmmmmm? I just left the phone on and walked away from it and 4 hours later the same recording was still playing. Hmmmmmmmmm? I call the bank and yup, they tried to get funds. Hmmmmmmmm? lol! lol! The bank did not honor it! Tried to e-mail them at thier customer service address and got a "failure to deliver" in my e-mail. Hmmmmmmmm? THE MORAL OF THE STORY. They didn't get nothing from us and I can only hope that they feel as scammed and ripped off as I would have felt had I not been suspicious. And I hope my letter here brings awareness to light and prevents alot of people from getting scammed.

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

Robert, Thanks for the information. I would have never fell for this because no one will ever get my personal information ever again. KYSIDE38

yeah this joint has been calling my wifes cell phone for last few days, finnaly did a google on the number to come up with this forum post, ironic that we let these idiots operate on a daily basis and yet try to convict a common family man for domestic issues more then protect the common good of our financial system..needless to say I have returned the call to the number listed and told them about the do not call list as I see this as solicitaion.. and was so far tracking down the route on HOW they got her number to a yahoo java script backdoor applet through yahoo email..

They have also been calling my house for the last few days so i done some looking into it. They get your name and number and address from an outside vendor if you ever applied for or were denied credit or high interest charges. Then they charge you an exorbitant fee for a small credit line.

oh! They called me too! If not the same company then one who is identical. I have news for them though. I let the rep read though all his terms and conditions and guess what I gave him my routing number and then I gave the first 3 numbers of my bank account and then "oops' the line went dead. ( I hung up!) He calls RIGHT back and I sweetly say "geeze don't you hate it when people waste your time or try to scam you"

I didn't wait for a reply I just hung up!

How do you get your money back if you gave card information. The phone lines are always busy or you get arecording to call back. When you call back you are on hold for more than 20 minutes at a time.

I am in the military and one of my sailors a while back got mixed up with these guys. It took a couple of consultations with JAG (Military Legal) to take care of these guys since they wouldn't let her cancel for herself. It wasn't easy to get them to cancel the service, but after a few weeks everything worked out for the better. It wasn't the easiest credit issue that I have had to help someone out of though.

Good luck

This site has got to be the worst and most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with.Even if your on the bottom of the barrel where I have landed stay away from these people. There company is a ripoff and one of the biggest messes I have gotten into in quite some time.I will do without credit cards from now on before I ever deal with the likes of a company like this again.

I have had this and worse happen to me as well. When you are in desperate need of money, you tend to really believe these people. I sent one "loan" company $800 borrowed dollars. I feel pretty stupid. Another company took 150 out of my account and I had never heard of them. Now I am trying to pull myself back up, but have been getting deeper and deeper in debt.

I had applied for the card since March 20 and I was supposed to have recieved the card within a month but I haven't, so I called to cancel. Then the lady said that it was nonrefundable, that I had verbally agreed. She said that she had already let me know and I told her that SHE never said anything close to that before to ME. SHe then said that that is what I had told the person who first called me for the card and I said once again that I did no such thing. I told her that I want to here that conversation and she said that she could not do that at this time and asked her why, what was the reason for her not being able to let me listen to the recording and she said that she did not want to play games with me. I told her that I wasn't playing games especially with money! And then she hung up on me! I did not catch her name but I called back and spoke to a man and he offered me more vouchers for her rudeness. I hope I can cancel cause I really dont want to deal with people or a company like that.
