I'm not sure I made the right choice?

I received the welcome packet and have had to call myself if i had any questions. I have emailed and never received a response unless i call and talk to someone. I thought by now I would have been formally contacted.
I'm ready to get quit and go with another company. Has anyone quit a settlement company and went with another. What can I expect if I do?

You have to be patient when you sign for a debt settlement program. It doesn't give out the results at the blink. Maybe your settlement company is preparing a plan and on the way to contact your creditors. You should call them and get the updates. Signing up with another company is your personal decision. I leave it on you.

Citifinancial has been contacting me and threatening magistrate action. I have never been in this position before and am concerned.

Even if I were in your place, I would have felt the same. But since you are facing all the legal threats, you need to get some reassurance from your settlement company. For that, if you have to make the call first, do it. I am sorry about how you feel but things may not be what you are expecting. Either positive or negative! So give a call and get some rest.

I'm so confused?????????????????
I just got of the phone with my settlement company and removed my citibank accts. My payment will be lowered but not until my initial down payment of 3 more months. :?:
I'm thinking of cancelling and going with another settlement company and being out 900$.
Has anyone ever quit their settlement company and went with another?

That is alot of money to be out. I think Passionhunting is right, that it takes time for the settlement company to contact the creditor and get a response. How long has it been since you signed up? I agree that it is a personal decision, and it must be hard during this time because you are making the payments on time and not getting results right away.

When you do a payment in the settlement program, it is getting documented, right? The rule of a settlement program is that the account must be in default for sometime before the negotiations are done with the creditors and make them realize that the person is in no condition to pay his debts. If the creditor decides to sue before the proposal is accepted, your documents will explain the judge that you had been in time in your payments. Maybe, your settlement company will be asked to present their defense in the court. Lee, one thing comes in my mind right now. Did you sign anything with your settlement company that says they won't be held responsible at the court if your creditor decides to sue you? Check your contract thoroughly for this point.

I'm really considering quiting after 1 month. I can then get my other bills caught up (mortage, car payment) and then in a few months joining another settlement company after I get current. I figure I can chalk up the 900$ loss to live and learn.
