LVNV put a lien against me for lack of payment

LVNV put a lean against me for lack of payment. OK, understandable. They sued me in the local court system and I didn't show up. However, my mother is trying to sell her house and they put a lean against her!!!! She never co-signed on the credit card! How is this legal.
If your name appears on the house note then they can do it that
