Can anyone tell me how I can stop payments from a payday loan? I had a $200 loan from GFSIL and last night I did the math and over the past few months they have deducted $1069 from my account, (I know I should have payed better attention!) and Paycheck Today has taken out $690 on a $300 loan. When I called the bank to do stop payments they said they could only do it if I had the exact amount and that these companies know the stop payment is only for 6 months so they wait it out and then draw on the account or use a different amount so that the bank doesn't pick up on it. Please Help!

The only option you have now at this point is to close that account and open a new one. What state are you in? And what internet pdls are you with? I'm going to post the link to use the settlement letter, and from the sound of what you are saying you should demand they mark your account paid in full. And you also need to file a complaint with your state's AG office due to the fact these internet pdls are not licensed to operate in majority of states. I'm going to post the link to Polly's settlement letter, you will need to insert your state's pdl laws. Wait one second.

I just called the number for GFSIL that I got off this website and the person I talked to was reluctant to give me info but he finally said my account was paid in full. I took his name and marked when I spoke with him as a record. I also have loans with Paycheck Today, Cashnet 500, Interim Cash, Money Tree, Advance America and USA (the last 4 are all storefront)

longway, I would still close the account and open a new one. These companies are known to do this and then still try to debit account or pass a paper check. When people on here get refunds they never take them to the bank. Because these people can get your new account number that way. Be Cautious at all cost. KYSIDE38

I am caught in this downward spiral of payday loans. When I talked to a debt counselor they said they could help but that the attorney's fees would be almost as much as what I owe. Is this a wise move or is it going to cost me a fortune using any attorney?

Does someone have contact points for the following companies: Interim Cash, Payday Yes, and Paycheck Today?
