I am in Ohio and feel everyone elsebut none of mine are over the internet. I never thought I would find anyone out there who could sympathize with me but now I have. I just hope I don't get arrested when I tell them I am off on medical leave and am not going to get any money. What do I do?

You just need to call each of your lenders and tell them about your problems. You are not denying the fact that you owe them money, but due to medical issues, you are unable to pay anything now. I have heard that some storefront lenders are very flexible and they will do adjustments. You just have to let them know about your problems.

If I understand correctly that none of your PDL are over the Internet which is a good thing because store front lenders you can speak to face to face. Just tell them what is going on, they make ask you for proof of your disability but explain to them that you will pay them what you can when you can but make sure that they understand that you have every intention of paying them back. Good luck

I wish there was something we could do to get rid of these places. My husband has only one of them and he should be out of it next payday but me, I can't even remember why I got so much in the first place. You can't imagine the relief I feel that finally I found a website that deals with PDL's. I think ppl are too ashamed to admit that they are in them and stuck. I went to my bank and to another financial loan place about a personal loan but got nowhere which is what I expected. Then we thought if I got some credit cards and could get cash advances from those that I could use them to pay off the PDL's but that didn't work out like we planned either. It helped a little but not much. So now I owe credit cards!

I plan on calling all of them to let them know what is going on but I don't know when I'll be back to work just yet. I go for an MRI on Wednesday.

I am very sorry to hear about your circumstances. I went through a similiar situation about 6 or 7 months ago with headaches and stroke symptoms. I had to have alot of tests done but everything turned out ok. That's when my finances really got screwed up. About the storefront lenders, just be up front with them. After I explained my situation to the 1 storefront lender I have they are letting me pay them $20 a week until I get them paid off (I owed $577.50). They should work with you as long as you are willing to pay them back when you are able.

humanbowler,
I know how you are feeling about these storefront pdls because I'm in the same boat and I'm in Ohio. I have a total of 4 storefronts and 2 of them are letting me do payment arrangements. The other 2 told me to go and borrow from another storefront so I could pay them. Well, that's defeating the whole purpose because I'm trying to get out of this mess :( If possible, talk to them in person instead of over the phone and they might be willing to set you up on a payment arrangement. I just feel that if you talk with these places in person, you might get better results than over the phone :)

You will need to make payment arrangments with the store front lenders in Ohio or they can take you to court. I would explain your situation and let them know what you can afford to pay them right now. I don't know which companies you are dealing with but I've heard most store front lenders are willing to work with you. Good luck :-)

Well I just called one of the PDL's and she said she would have to send the check through anyway. I told her OK but there was nothing in the bank. So now I'm going to have NSF fees up the wazoo. I'm trying to refinance my auto loan today too. I'm 2 months behind on it. How does anyone not feel hopeless with these kind of problems? It's no wonder ppl end their lives. I just read a story about a woman who was going to jump off a bridge because she has to sell her house and now she and her kids have nowhere to go. Luckily (or maybe not) some ppl saw her and stopped her. The police arrested her to keep her from doing anything else and keep her safe. Now I have to finish calling everyone else. All I want to do is lay in bed and do nothing. Watch movies where they have happy endings which I know never happens IRL. Why don't they make movies more real? Endings that are more true to life.

humanbowler, Things will get better. Many of us on this forum started out in the same situation as you. You will not go to jail and most of the storefront people will try and work something out. Just like Mishele said they can take you to court so try and work out something. I absolutely get sick at my stomach when I think where I was at a year ago. I am PDL free and I am so thankful. We are here for you. Good Luck KYSIDE38

Well one good thing happened yesterday to help me out. I got my vehicle refinanced so that I don't have to make a payment for awhile and it's lower too. I can't wait till I can say I'm out of the cash advances and I will never, and I mean this, ever go back to them. It's sick and sad how much money I've wasted on them. I feel like making business cards about this website and handing them out to ppl. I will tell everyone at work about it just in case they ever need advice or anything. I'm feeling alittle better today but when I woke up about 2 AM I was REALLY dizzy. I still am but not like I was. I don't think I could have walked. I had to go to the bathroom at the time but I waited because I didn't want to fall with my back problems and all. I'll let you guys know how today's progressing later.

I am back after a very busy summer and I am glad to see this site it still helping people with their PDL issues. I am still having issues with mine. One of which is a store front lender. Every time I come in to make a payment they say things that make me feel like I am the biggest loser. I feel like reporting them, but I'm not sure who to report them too. Any advice?

Well the auto loan didn't go through because I was a hair under what they wanted for the income and get this, right now I am paying $424 a month and with that loan it would have been about $392. Is that crazy? I asked the guy if that made any sense to him and he said it's just how they base the income so now I gotta try it with a co-signer. I have a feeling it's gonna get repo'd. This sucks. If that happens I am screwed. No car means no way to get to work which is finally a decent job and there is no one to carpool with who lives near me. I was starting to feel good and now the knot is back in my throat.
