i just found out that 1st credit of america is not licnese to collect in minnesota..what steps i need to take now..

All collectors must be licensed to do business in the borrowers' state. Report them to your state attorney general and the Dept. of financial institutions. They will investigate on them. Do you know the original creditor? You can pay your debt directly to the creditor without dealing with any collection agency. Give a call to look into your file and make payment arrangements.
