I got a call from a Mr. henson representing TCI? I can't tell because he doesn't talk real clear (he sounds US though). In any case Sears sent my account to collection even though I told them that T&C was handling things and now I've got two different companies calling me to collect, although the one group I haven't talked with yet. While Mr. Henson told me that he is tryiong to help me out and all that, he did say that I should come up with large amount of money ASAP and that he could save me $2,000. He said that this company would sue me and that they would attach my house and all kind of stuff. My wife's name somehow ended up on this and she never signed a thing and never had a Sears card in her name? Does anyone know anything about these guys and are their threats for real. (He really just mentioned suing. Intimidation, yeah, but it's not like he said they were going to sue me. He was the good cop, I'm sure the bad cop is next) I'm not surprised that they would threaten to sue, that's why there is a contract. My question is has anyone dealt with them? Do they settle or should I prepare for this appropriately. My dad doesn't have the money, my wife moved out, and if I had the money, I would have given to my mortgage holder to get out of foreclosure. Let me know if any of you have any experiance with these guys. TCI is like a cable company and CTI comes up as Collection Training Institute which I don't believe is accurate in this case.

I believe T&C is working on this account; did you update them about this collection call? Anyone of you should handle this matter. If T&C is working on this, don't do anything from your side otherwise it will create confusion. If you send a payment, there are chances that T&C proposals will get cancelled. Either forward all the calls to T&C or you handle it alone.

Did the collector validate the debt in writing? They can't escape the federal laws. Without documentation, there is no proof that this CA is having your file and your money will be posted to your account.

CTI is collection agency with an office in Dallas, Texas. They are very sneaky...aren't they all. When first calling me they would use first name of a neighbor so when leaving message on recorder..."Hi, this is Angela...give me a shout when you get back home....cya". I called back thinking it was my neighbor Angela and found out they were a ranting, raving collection agency. Be very careful with them. I was able to prove did not owe any debt they were trying to collect from me.

If you think that T&C will handle it then I will just get them the info and let them handle it. I do owe some of the money, although I believe that the charges have probably been expanded due to the transfer. I don't mind paying a reasonable monthly fee but $2,000 or more just to get set up on a payment plan is, well, out of line. I don't want to be sued either and don't want to have to consider the "B" word. I have avoided that and think I still can, if everyone works with me reasonably. I was curious if anyone here had been sued or been through the process with them to get an idea just how agressive they are.
