I received a call yesterday from a man named William from Bass&Associates. To make a long story short, he used he scare tactics telling me that I had 2 hours to settle the pdls debt or I would be arrested. He was probably expecting me to be scared, but I wasn't. So I told him he would be hearing from my attorney. He hung up on me. 10 minutes later a get a call from the same number, but I didn't answer it because I was on the other line. This man left a voicemail message telling me to call Lewis St John and ?( I couldn't understand the rest of the name, but it was the same phone number. I never did return the call, but the point I'm getting at is this Bass&Associates has so many names, it is pathetic. These dumb people need to realize that having caller id is a common thing and most people do have it. It just amazes me that the same phone number has a different company name.

Don't avoid the phone calls because they may try to get a false judgment against you. They will prove the judge that you had a debt and you were trying to avoid it. If you don't pay them attention (that is also one of their scare tactic) they will prove in front of the judge and make you pay on it legally. I say, you must use your legal rights and send the debt validation to their mailing address. Doing this, you will have proof of your part of the actions.

Ok, you have a base there. Any collection agency must be licensed in the borrowers' state before doing collections. It doesn't harm sending a debt validation letter even if they are not licensed. In fact, that will add one more point to your strong case against Bass & Associates. Talk to your attorney, he'll recommend the same.

Bass & Associates, Bass Enterprise and Bass Prelitigations...these are all the names I was given by three different people all with the same phone number. One person even called and said Interstate Wire Compliance and it was the same person who had called me a few days earlier with the same phone number telling me Bass & Associates. I hope they get shut down real soon, so they can stop harrassing people and making all these false threats.

Ok guys they called me today this morning and when he told me that he was going to take me to court I told him that he had no clue who he was talking to and that he can not threaten to do anything to me because that is against the Fair Debt Collection Act. I told him he needed to get his info together before talking to me and hung up. I then called back and spoke to his manager David and he said that if I took him to the FTC, Attorney General and the BBB like I told hime I would he said he would sue me for slander. I tell you what Bass and Associates you have messed with the wrong person I know all too much about unfair debt collections and I am not scared to go to court and settle anything. Get this they don't even have our correct address.

I went through the same thing. But now i'm in debt more than i started out. my loan was for $250 & $300.00. I paid $200.00 and the keep trying to take money out of my bank account and now it's up to $1200 in overdrafts or nsf. then they called and said i was going to jail, the funny thing is, the person i was speaking said the people i borrowed the money from where like loan sharks and they wanted their money. no matter what. i just don't answer any more they want me to pay $1000. more plus what i owe my bank because of them. my advise don't get any kind of internet loans i wish someone would shut them all down. because they really are abunch of loan sharks.

I am just going through the same thing.. I had to close my bank account to stop them from taking out money of my account. I took two loans out for $250, and have paid them over $850 EACH! They kept saying I was just paying financing fee's. I had enough of it, so I just closed the account. Now I am getting calls from them. What should my next step be.. contact an attorney?

After reading these posts in regards to Bass, I think when they start their speel about downloading affidavids, people should try this trick and it actually worked for me with a few of the collection agencies that were harassing us. Once they got done with their threats, I told them that all our phone calls were being recorded through the sheriffs department. I also have told them, great download them and I will have my bags packed and waiting for the cops to arrest me. I need a vacation. That makes them hang up quick.
