Mishele, no matter what happens job wise, you are very talented and impressive and once you are on a mission you see it through. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. I am keeping you and your mom in our thoughts. Hang in there.

Dec. 1 will come very quickly. At least the date is set..Even though it's longer than she had hoped, she now has a certain day to look for. :)

Thanks everyone. I'm off to an interview in a few minutes. It started snowing here. Yuck! It was nice this morning but it got colder quick.

Things went well during the interview yesterday. I think I have a good shot and I hope the money will be good. That will be discussed down the road or during a second interview. I should hear something more next week. They seemed impressed with me as I was with them. I think it would be a good match and it would only be ten minutes from my house, instead of forty five miles one way. I could save a lot of money on gas :-) I spoke to mom for a little bit yesterday. She's feeling pretty good and was in good spirits. We're going over tomorrow. Hubby is going to do some fixing around her house. Mom has challenged me to a scrabble match so it should be a fun day :-)

We just got back from mom's a little while ago. Hubby did some work for her around the house. My nieces and nephew were also there today. We didn't play scrabble but we watched movies and stuffed our faces. My niece made a yummy yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I had a good feeling after I left the interview the other day. I had another one scheduled but it got postponed. I saw where a payday store is hiring locally. Should I apply? LOL! I would probably get fired on the first day for turning people away. Don't do it, don't do it LOL! I think I'll just leave that one be :-). I did have a long chat with my boss yesterday. We'll see where that goes next week. I think that's when a decision is supposed to be made. It would be nice to be so close to home though.

Well, it's been an interesting week as far as the job situation goes :-) Yes, I am smiling but I wasn't earlier in the week. I got a call Tuesday afternoon on my lunch hour from the place that I interviewed with last week. They offered me the job but the money was not quite right yet. It was closer to home but it still wasn't where I wanted it to be. I told her I needed to think it over. So, this is the day my boss decided to tell us his decision. I had not idea. He called my co-worker into his office late in the day. I didn't think much of it and was getting ready to go home. A few minutes later he calls me into his office. Well, they wanted me to stay. Yikes! I felt torn really fast. I told my boss I had another job offer and he was floored. So I told him I needed a day to think about things. Well, I left for the day. I called my boss and asked him if we could chat that evening. I went back to work and we talked for two hours. My boss is a nice guy and I really like him. This was not his decision: it was a higher up kind of thing. It's happening at other locations as well. So, I had talked to my mom and my hubby and I stayed up late and talked. I had made up my mind to stay. I get to work the next morning and my boss asks me into his office. In front of me was paperwork stating that I was getting a pretty good raise. I guess they didn't want to lose me after all. I will also be getting another raise in January because that is my anniversary month. He told me he really respects me and likes working with me. He has been very flexible about the situation with my mom. He knows that she comes first. He is very good about things like that. He said he would like to see me grow with the location and move up in the company. He realizes that I did most of my old bosses' work and he got credit for it. Most everyone know that now. Today was the last day for the other office gal. It has been a tough week. I feel bad for her but I know that she will bounce back. I'm just looking forward to getting on with things :-)

I don't post alot but I have been thinking about you this week and hoping that everything was going to work out okay. I took care of my mom for a year and having a supportive job was a tremendous help so I am happy that things worked out well and you got a raise to boot!

Congratulations on your raise! That's terrific! And it's a real plus that your boss is so good about the situation with your mom. That counts for a lot. I' glad you're smiling again!

Thanks everyone. It was a relief to finally have things resolved and the raise is a bonus for me. My mom and hubby are proud of me too :-) Mom ordered me a new Kitchenaid Mixer for an early birthday present and I want to make cupcakes tonight. I just don't want to ice them all LOL! Thanks :-)
