i have been visiting this site for a lil while now and it seems there is alot of useful information on it.. my ? is about my mom and if any1 can give me any advice as to where to go to get info id be thankful..my mom is on disability and is behind on her property taxes for her house she can keep up on other payments but just not those..if i could help her o would but im in my own financial bind myself..does any1 know of any forms of help she could get in pa?.. sorry if i shouldnt have posted this just figured id ask..thnks :)

Have your mom go to her town office, city hall or talk to the Town Clerk. She needs to tell them that she wants to request a tax abatement because she can't pay her property taxes. She should explain why. Usually a person will have to ask for the abatement in writing, and will also have to give information about their financial situation that shows they can't pay. The person requesting the abatement may also have to go to the Board meeting to make their request in person.

I would have your Mom go to the office that distributes and collects property taxes and let them know she is on disability and can they help her with her hardship. I know my local city and county work with people who are on fixed incomes and disabled, they give them a financial break of some sort. I would have her start there, there are many outlets for paying property taxes for the disabled.
