My credit report currently shows that I have an open installment that I paid in full nearly a year and one half ago. Since then I have disputed the item several times providing documentation that the item has been paid in full both electronically and hard copies. I have spoken with other departments and they indicated that my information was never received in their database even after receiving a letter to make payment arrangements. We are now going on 18 months and I would really like to get this resolved and updated on my credit report as this is causing a large problem. Thank you for your consideration.

You need to send copies of the paid in full documentation to the loan company and the credit bureaus. Also if not already disputer it with all three CB and send a letter to the loan company stating that if they do not recitfy this error on your credit report then you will get legal help (if you can't afford an atty then i would look up the legal aid society) in your town/state. Good luck and keep posting

I have done all of your suggestions, I guess it's just going to be a long time pestering the company and documenting everything. Thank you again!
