I want to start a new credit

I came here 3 years ago. I started with a low salary and ended me with 1340.00 debt.I checked it using freecreditreport.com.It said that accounts are close. Is there any way that I can chaNge this . Improve my credit score. My dad passed away last year. this is where everything started.Pls advise me of what to do.I want to start a new credit.

Your credit scores will improve after some of the accounts in negative are paid off. You have to contact your creditors and tell them your interests in paying off the debts. The accounts will become active and you can pay them through easy monthly arrangements if the negotiations have been done prior to this.
I am sorry to hear about your dad. Any financial institution will be viewing your credit file before granting new credit. You have to bring your credit scores up to a decent standing so that you can shop fro the best deals from the creditors around.
