I have sent the letters to them several times this week with no response. I was wondering how long does it usually take for them to respond. Should I file the complaint since they won't respond?

I'm so glad that I found this board. Everyone is very helpful

Thanks

Are the letters asking to work out payment arrangements, or to say that you have overpaid according to your state laws and want the accts. marked "Paid in Full"?

I actually emailed Payday Ok with a request to mark my acct. as "Paid in Full" because I had overpaid, and I got a reply back in less than a day. You could try emailing and faxing both companies to see if that gets you a response.

kstrayhorn, I would keep up those e-mails until you hear something. They are located in Ruisido NM. They are being sued by the state of WV. Good Luck Hope you get an answer soon. KYSIDE38

I also have a dispute with paydayok. They have always been really good about returing emails almost immediately whenever I have had a question or needed a payment extended. But now that I want the account paid in full because they violated MI laws. I have paid $1000 for a $500 loan and demanded the account Marked PAID IN FULL. I have sent about 3 emails a day to these people and have not heard anything from them. I even filed complaints with the BBB, FTC, and MI Attorney Gen. office. I told them I have complained, and still nothing. SO I don't know. I know they haven't closed the account cause when I log in it keeps adding up. But I changed my bank account, my phone number(it is now unlisted) and I have changed jobs since the original loan. So they haven't been harassing me. I am harassing them for a change.

Pay Day Ok and Select just closed my account with no other collection activities. I guess I have emailed them so many times that a lady called me and apologized. She said that the acct is closed. She was very nice and told me that she wanted to make sure I received the emails. I'm so glad I found this board. It's been a week and have already had 3 settlements. WOOHOO!!!!!!

Thanks

Guest,

You couldn't have said it better. "Harrassment DOES work", that is why collection agencies frequently use those tactics; they just don't expect to receive it in return. If you make contact with them and stick with it, and are relentless, eventually, they will get tired of you and just write your account off...

Paydayok must be ticked off today. They wrote of my loan today. Said I had satisfied my loan and the account was closed. They didn't like hearing that I filed complaints against them, I kept emailing and emailing demanding my loan be marked paid. That they violated my state laws, I emailed my state laws. So they finally did it. I am now writing letters to all my state reps, senators, anyone I can think of to get these places banned. They are taking advantage of poeple when they are in financial turmoil and just putting them in worse situations than they were already in. We all need to stick together and get rid of these places.

Valerie, I think there are some people on this forum that are working towards this issue. They do need to be closed down for good I agree. :D :D

contacted a PDL company that has been harrassing me for almost a month with phone call on my job and emails, i finally decided to contact him to see what the name of the company was and to see how much were the loans that i took out with this company, after talking with him i sent a letter through email explaining that this company has violated TN laws, they came back with invaild email address, i then contacted him back to ask him what was his correct email address he then asked me why was i trying to sen d him something through email, I told him that it was letter stating that his company was violating TN laws, I then told him that the same copy of this information was faxed to my lawyers office, he quickly responded "LAWYER" do ya'll not know that after holding the phone for 5 minutes i realized that he hung the phone up after i said this information was forwarded to my lawyers office. Funny isn't it!!!!!!!!!!
