Oy! I've posted this twice in the wrong forum, so I apologize in advance.

My husband had a payday loan from Payday ok last year. We just recently paid it off, it took 8 months. I'm sure we overpaid. I am in Maryland and just recently found out they are illegal. Is there anyway to get the money that was overpaid back from them in addition to some others? We had several and they were all paid off in Feb of this year. Just wondering as that would be great! Not too hopeful though.

We are now in a whole other bind with these pdl's which I am taking control of! If only I had known...well that's neither here nor there and now I do know. Thanks! Great forum!

File complaints against them with The Better Business Bureau, The Federal Trade Commision, and your states Attorney Generals Office. Then notify the companies that they have violated your states laws and that you have filed complaints against them. You may at least recieve what you overpaid in interest and fees.

It also helps to state in your letters that you "demand a refund of fees overpaid" as well as citing the laws they have violated as well as letting them know your AG's office is investigating the case against them. This is what I did with one of my PDLs, and they bent over backwards to settle with me.
