I like to know is it asking to much if I pay a settlement with midland credit management; that they would provide a letter of completed payment of debt to the company and removal of debt from my credit report as they promised.

You must get a PAID IN FULL letter from the CA after the debt is paid off. The debt is valid and MCM has reported in your credit file. This is accurate negative information and federal laws allow that information to stay in consumers file. If MCM says, they can remove the negative item from your file, get their deal in writing.

They said they would take it off of your credit report if you paid it? You need to get that in writting. collection agencies do not make a habit or remmoving items from your credit report after they are paid.
