How to clear a paid debt from my report.

Hello,
I was served with a letter that stated I owed money, and if it was not paid by a the small claims court date, it would go on my credit report. I paid, and this still went on my credit report. I tried to dispute it, and the credit agency said it is to remain until 2010. Can I sue this person that sent a wrongful claim to the company?
