I had been served a Court Ordered Judgment back in Dec. 05 MRC Receivables Corp., the current owner of my acct. They'd obtained a lawyer to get their monies. In accordance with the court ordered judgment I was to pay $739.39 to the law ofc. In May of 06, my payments were completed, yet the lawyers were still trying to force me to pay an additional amount, separate from the court ordered judgment in which I'd fully complied. I had to request a Motion from the Justice Court in that Precinct to "Deem Judgment Satisfied." I had spoken to the court clerk assigned to my case and she'd stated that it was illegal and I should file the Motion. I'd sent the Motion certified mail to both the Courts and the Law ofc. representing MRC. To no prevail neither MCM, Inc. legal dept. nor the hired law ofc. will return any of my calls, I forgot to mention the Courts ruled the "Motion to Deem Judgment Satisfied", in my favor. No response at all from the lawyers representing MRC. Can anyone help me to update my credit report and also, to help others who may be in this difficult situation.

All you have to do is to send the copies of the legal documents to the credit bureau reporting this account. Draft a letter explaining the court order ruled in your favor. This is basically a dispute letter you are sending to the credit bureau because the law office and the current creditor have not updated your file.

Send the letters through certified mail and the CRA will run an investigation with the companies. You will see the effects in your file within 30 days.

My husband and i just found out that he is being sued by mrc receivables corp. For an undisclosed $ amount and also it hasn't been mentioned for what. I was searching for the company on the internet as i had never heard of them and found several sites saying that this was a scam / fraudulent collection agency.
Does anyone know if this is true. Please email email address removed as per forum rules - Mike
please & thank you

I received a letter from the IRS today stating I owe them $701.00 for an account that was paid to MRC. Has anyone else had this problem. I then attempted to contact MRC and the rep I spoke with told me he could not discuss my account and hung up on me. I was puzzled as to why he could not discuss this since I paid the account in full. Has anyone else had this problem?

Since when does the IRS pay bills, that is a new one for me. If the collection agency is not taking your calls I would report the situation to your attorney generals office they will contact them and get some answers for you. I filed a complaint and got a response with in 5 business days in the mail. Maybe your AG would be your best starting point, they won't hang up on them.

Riadd, you need to go to the clerk of the court and find out where and when the judgement was filed. You then need to find out how you were supposedly served. If you weren't properly served, you can then ask to have the judgement overturned. Someone else will be along that can advise you much better than myself, so hang in there.

I have also received a judgement against them, which is unjustified. I do believe the company might be some type of scam. I am going to my lawyer and ask him write a letter on my behalf to submit to credit agencies

I too have a judgement for and old fingerhut account and i am being sued by mrc recievals or Midland credit group I did'nt know they are the same people until I pay off a on old cc debt an I was inquiring infromation of when it would come off of my CR and spoke with RYAN whom was rude to me in regard to information of the other accounts instead of the one in which was pay. He was so rude...... I didd't even get served any judgement papers for the MRC account it just appeared on my credit report..... He continued to talk about a judgment that I Owe him for and said that his lawyer was handling that It was an awful phone call that I made in regards to my payment. And If this judgment belongs to them now I have made payment of 300.00 and he was not answering any of my question about was those payments recieved but continue to try and get me to explode on hisw loud mouth bitchy voice. However I keep receipts and is wondering will these funds I payed to this Lawyer on there behalf go toward this judgement or what should i do .

my husband and I are trying to buy a house and I was told by the realtor that there is a civil judgement on my CR. After looking into it I found that it is MRC receivables for like $1400. I was a bad 18 year old at one time and I did rack up a CC bill for about 800 and one for 1000. I have settled one of them on my own years ago. I was never contacted by MRC nor was I served anything about a judgement or court date. I have been reading all of these posts. I can't find a phone number anywhere to contact them to ask what the hell is going on. Its like they exist but they don't. I can't buy a house until it's taken off my CR... I feel screwed. I'm going to contact the local court tomorrow and hope I find something out.

I too have a judgement from MRC Corporation, which is a debt that was acquired without my knowledge. I have been sent a judgement from the Jurisdictions of New Jersey and the debt was made in the State of Maryland unbeknownest to me. This debt is 13 years old and I had an account with Fingerhut, but all of my personal papers and effects were compromised. What should I do, these people are threatening to come into my home and appraise everything inside to settle the debt that I disagree on.

Did you settle the account for less than what was owed on it? If so some companies turn a form over to the IRS and it is then counted as income. Household did that to us in 2002 they turned in 7500 and we ended up owing the IRS 2000 grand and change. So we lucked out an paid the IRS in full. Then we held our breath waiting for the other credit card companies to do the same and so far it has been 13 years and no one else has done that. I don't know if zombie collection agencies do that or not? Anyone else know?

Hubby and I are trying to get a mortgage and the broker informed me of a judgement on my credit from MRC Receivables. I have no idea what this could be for, apparently the judgement was awarded in 2005! Shouldn't I be receiving phone calls or at the least collection letters? The broker is trying to get me to sign up w/ a company called National Credit Care and have them do the work to have it validated or removed(and also do some work on my husbands credit, he has alot of stuff that is either old or incorrect on his report, mainly due to his being a junior). Anyone heard of NCC and anyone had any luck getting a judgement overturned? I was told they have 30 days to give proof of debt, but I didn't think that applied now that they have a judgement

It depends on how much time has passed since this all happened, has the garnishments taken effect yet? If too much time hasn't passed since the judgment was obtained, you could try filing a motion to vacate the judgment due to improper service.

there are only two states that when a debt is past SOL it's void.WI,AND MS.every other state the debt is still owed, but it's your option topay as whoever tries to collect can't sue or take other action to collect.

Please know your rights. MRC reveivables Corp put a bank levy on my checking account which caused my whole SSI check to be garnished. I filed an exemption at the courthouse. MRC Reveivables or none of their representatives even showed up! They just sent a motion to dismiss!! That tells me that they should have been allowed to touch my SSI in the 1st place. If I didn't have sense enough to know that creditors couldn't do that to you... I would be still out of my whole SSI check.

I recently found out a judgment was served against me by MRC Receivables Corp. I had some payday loans back in 2004 and think it could be this, because I went through Consumer Credit Counseling and completed it two years ago, and at that time this debt never showed up on my credit report. Not once did this company ever contact me or make an attempt to settle the debt. Now it is on my credit report and it is ruining my credit. Please tell me what to do?

Can you e-mail me at: No email addy for your safety and per TOS- Goldenbast I will look here for the response if not. Thank you.

I had a judgement against me in September of 2006 regarding MRC Receivables, Corp. They froze my account and I paid it off. Now it is still on my credit report and I have been denied credit and I have excellent credit ever since then. What do I do to get this off of my credit report?

Actually judgments are tricky little suckers...according to FCRA they can stay on for 7 years or until the governing statute of limitations has expired, whichever is greater...so say a SOL is 15 years, then that judgment can stay on for 15 years.

BUT satisfied judgments should only stay on for 7 years.
