Hi rsriley.
I'm sorry you may have missed your callback. The debt counselors are there for you if you need them, but you don't need a referral to Langhorne Law. I believe you made a smart choice. There are many people who have posted (as well as a few people I personally know) who have gone with this law firm and are extremely pleased with the way clients are treated and the way Langhorne Law conducts their business. Keep posting and let us know how everything is going. Good luck to you!

Thank you very much. I just happened to come across this right after throwing in the towel. Do you know by chance how long it takes them to contact you or how long the process takes to get things lined out? With just what I've read, I'm sure these people stay incredibly busy. But, I'm also needing stuff worked out asap as well. Give and take I guess.

They contacted me within a day, but if you are in a huge hurry just call them and they will get you started. I paid my first retainer payment on Thursday, and they had the representation letters sent out over the following weekend, and had 5 of my PDL's negotiated down to zero within a week. They work very fast. One thing that is helpful is if you can gather as many of your contracts and paperwork together and fax it over to them. They work quickly and aggresively. Within 1 week the phonecalls have pretty much stopped.

How much is the retainer payment, or does it vary? Will I be required to find all of that paperwork/contracts because for most of these, I don't know if I still have them. I can probably get some, but not all.

I'll let cbigfan answer that for you, as I haven't personally dealt with them, but as I've said, many people are very pleased with them. Also, they worked on the "other side," representing PDL companies, so at first we were a little skeptical. However, they have proven themselves over and over again. They decided they were on the "wrong side of the fence" and knew they were helping the wrong people. That works in your favor because they know all the tricks the PDLs use, and when no one else knows how to get ahold of them, Langhorne Law does because they have their home phone numbers! It's a real blessing having them on our side! Hang in there.

I'm hanging. I called right away and have been on hold now for 1 1/2 hours and nobody's picked up yet. I guess they stay pretty busy.

Their retainer is usually 25% of what you owe PRINCIPAL ONLY. And they let you spread it out over 6-12 months. Plus you are asked to set aside a certain amount each month (in your own savings...you control that money and are earning interest on it)for settling your loans. But if you have already overpaid, He will get you settled for either Zero or pennies on the dollar. And thats just on the principal. You won't have to pay any more of their outlandish interest or fees. He has already settled 5 of mine @ zero. I started with 19 loans. The total cost of my program is about 25% per month of what I was paying in rollover fees alone. And the loans are going away, and the phone has stopped ringing. You just can't put a price on that kind of peace of mind.
To answer your other question, no you don't have to have your contracts. It just helps to get as much of your information to him as soon as possible. That way he can start getting the letters out and making contact with your creditors to get these things settles. Even if you just make up a summary sheet of all your creditors and how much you owe (principal only) is a start.

Ok - that's great to know. I just need for them to pick up the phone. I've been on hold for 2 hours and 20 mintutes. I'm getting a little tired of hearing this song. How long does it usually take to get someone on the phone? I hate to hang up and start over.

Man I have never had to hang on that long. But I know what you mean. If I hear "The girl from Eponema" one more time!!! LOL. I would try calling back, and try dialing X-147 right after. That's Mimi and she is my cust. service rep, and she is really sweet.

That is a long time to be on hold. Maybe you can PM them from this site instead and have them get back to you. Go to your message board. At the top where it says username, type in Marcia Brady's Lovechild (I'm not sure if you hit PM before or after typing this in). Anyway, they check their e-mails pretty regularly. Let me know if this works.

Good, you're on your way! Things will get easier from this point on. They'll handle the creditors for you. If you do continue to have a problem with any of them, just contact Langhorne Law and let them know, and they'll take care of it for you. If you need anything, we're here for you.
Did anyone ever call you back? (Besides the Girl from Eponema)??

That's hilarious!!! I'm going to have dreams about that. I just know it. Unfortunately, no one has called me or replied to my PM. I was having trouble a couple of days ago w/my PM, but they stated it should be working by now, but I haven't rec'd anything. I did notice their website was down a good part of the day. I don't know if that might have hindered communication or not. I'll try calling again first thing in the morning and see what happens. Do you know of any one else's extension I could try in case the Eponema Girl gets to be more than I can handle?

Finally got ahold of Dennis and Mimi today. (Yea!!!) They said that they had some nasty weather come through because both their phones and computers were out yesterday. They had no communications. But I called again this morning and happened to dial "0" when the recording picked up and Dennis picked up the phone right away. Mimi called later in the day and got some preliminary info from me and told me what to do to get started. I am so pumped about doing this. I just hope they're able to knock all of these loans out for me. Thanks to everyone for your support and direction. Hopefully, no more eponema girls.

Yeah I talked to Dennis Tuesday night and he told me about the weather. I knew something had to be amiss. Best of luck with your program. We are blessed that we found him.
