Stupid loans

Can you go to a new bank and open a new one? If so that is what I would do.

What is your bank telling you? With some banks they won't close the account until your balance is 0. Here at my bank we will automatically close the account after it is negative for so many days. Did you ask your bank about putting a block on all debits? Also maybe you can send a letter to the places that are trying to debit the account REVOKING the authorization for them to debit your account any further. Is your bank going to allow you to make payments to clear up your account?

Some banks are different, I would talk to your bank and see what they say. If they end up charging it off they will report you to chexsystems or whoever they go through. The longer you wait to pay it the more likely you will get reported. I would defiantly get that other account opened right away just incase that happens.
Some people have had luck with their bank allowing them to make payments as long as they kept up with them.

My sons' account at the bank was overdrawn, and they let him make payments. But he set up payment arrangements pretty quick, and also went into the bank to speak with an officer of the bank about it....Karen
